EU vs NA
I like it… maybe we could take the teams tallies from the end of the month and pit them against there NA/EU conterparts. Or maybe even put Tier 1 vs Tier 1 and so on. Basically a 6v6. There are many possible ways to do this but I personally think it would be a fantastic and fun idea.

or even end of the month tier fights …..am thinking about tier 1 and the last tiers mostly to be honest …..chances are the top servers will pretty much stay t1 and weaker servers will stay at the bottom – so it may inspire more play for the lower tiers to have more variety – and the t1 servers from getting bored of each other lol- the middle tiers will probably always shift around so they’d have the most variety.
And what about the localized server ? they are half of EU servers : 13 servers !
Just ignore them ? or make a ladder just form them ?
duno, I guess that would be anets call on what is possible – I’m thinking Major Leagues for the servers with a major pvp audience- and pee wee fights for the servers that have low wvw attendance – so am not so much thinking so much of how many servers …just more servers to have more of a chance for balanced wvw for everyone.
A monthly top 3 server week match would be awesome.
Basically the best EU vs the best NA server + the server that has the most points after those 2
Hacking your orbs since 2/11
Tier1 EU and Tier1 US are two totally different worlds.
I’ve played in both, and I can tell with all certainty that any t3 EU server would easily annihilate the top US server.
That’s why RUIN went to the EU bracket: the US servers push during the weekend and give up on sunday night. The EU servers have bloody 24/7 warfare until friday when they restart.
Anybody who loves WvW and is still playing in the US has not experienced GW2 at all.
Come on over to Desolation, jump in Teamspeak with RUIN, and play a real WvW match.
Pretty much what NoShelter said, there is a huge gap between EU and NA Servers. And it’s not only about prime time and off prime time raids, it’s also about organisation, EU t1 feels very different to NA t1.
Occam Pi (Ele), Acaena Elongata (Warrior), Finja Salversdotir (Ranger),
Bytestream (Engineer), Vim Whitespace (Thief)

Why more US guild need to go on Deso, you already totally over-numbered all the EU serv in the night…. i mean when it’s your prime time, you have what vs you ? 10/20 guys on AS and 20/30 of VS … ?.
Their is absolutely no challenge for US guild to move in EU.. your prime time is when 90% of EU player go to sleep…

C’mon people lets not start a flame war on numbers and night time numbers.
Were trying to see if there is any way to orginise a end of the month WvW match between NA and EU so people do not become bored of the exact same fights every week. The monthly fight might be fun and good.
@NoShelter EU may be better and it may not. Just depends on how long it’s been since you have been in the T1 in NA. Servers get better and more orginised over time. Who knows, maybe it would be an extremely equal match that will have people biting there fingers off for hitting the wrong button and dieing and then screaming at the computer…. not that I did that or anything.. :\ lol

Blacktide currently has no significant American presence (unless some joined us while i wasn’t looking), the nighttime playing that you see is the Russians waking up, they are several hours ahead and generally start playing at 3-4 am CET.
We would welcome American guilds though, it would make our server even stronger and even more competitive.
It should’ve been a worldwide game from start
Though until they manage to figure out what they’re going to do with that, whether they’ll merge or not, and how they’d do that not to penalise the specific language servers….. The monthly T1 matches sounds like it could be fun
If it should have been worldwide from start, then I repeat my concern :
What would happen for localized servers? They represent 50% of EU ladder, and maybe 25% of the global GW2 pop…
They are only on 1 timezone, and they won’t be able to find oversea community willing to join their servers… and Yet, some of them have proven to be extra competitive. Why should they go down in the ladder only because they play on a localized server ?
The problem is wider : for WvW purpose, language specific servers shouldn’t have existed to begin with.
For PVE purpose on the other hand they have their place.
Now they exist in both. To make it “fair” ANet has then created two different ladders, so that these servs wouldn’t have to cope with different TZ and such.
But that’s not going to evolve that way.
At least that’s the way I see it… There was no point having DE/FR/ES servs for WvW to begin with.
There might’ve been localised worldwide spanish and french servers, but it’s more likely that there would be servers which were designated the unofficial servers of <this>, like happens in most games., even games which do have the split but maybe no or little localisations (Warsong in WoW, anyone?).
It’s never hard to find people to play together with in your own language, if you really want to, personally i prefer a more international environment and am ecstatic that while they made a split between the servers, they didn’t region lock them.
Those EU->NA or NA->EU migrations are nonsense. GW2 was made with 2 ladders and main timezones and A-Net said it was not its purpose to merge NA and EU.
US guilds migrating massively to EU is just ruining WWW at all…
