Better than having a PvP map being used as a PvE karma train.

What exactly is your concern with this? There is no match to be manipulated as there is no benefit to winning vs losing. The only issue I could see would be interfering with the Ktrain, which one could argue as being against the intended use of the map as well.

Sounds like fun – you should get in on it instead of worrying about players getting killed…. in a pvp zone……

Let’s see… a few guilds use eotm as a place for “private” battles (gvg??) and you have a problem with them killing other players? Easy solution, go around them and let them have their “private” battle and your ktrain can roll on unimpeded. Or you could go off to the sidelines and watch them. Or you could just run into the middle of them and see how it goes. You have many options to deal with it…

It’s where all the T1 servers farm karma and ranks,then they go back to WvW afterwards and boast with their high ranks earned in eotm.

This, by a lot. EotM maps are already a joke. You sometimes get yelled out of maps if you dare to actually engage the enemy servers.

Not against intended use of the map at all. It’s an WvW zone, therefore you should be on your guard at all times. Anyone that tried to argue against fighting on a WvW map would be laughed at by everyone.

I was referring to Ktrains not the fights

If anyone is so against getting killed by other players that they feel the need to complain to Anet about it, they should go do PvE. There’s still plenty of events and no players to kill you. Otherwise, accept that occasionaly getting killed on a PvP map is the small price to pay for having endless karma and champion bags spoonfed to you for the minimum of effort.

I‘m a bit confused, what is your problem exactly? Are you really complaining that on a WvW-Map players get killed?

It’s kind of weird. These guilds come EotM to fight and whine like hungry babies if you shoot cows inside fight. Sound like l2p issue to be. They don’t know how to remove poison? Of course if i see green players inside fight i shoot some treb heals too because i am support player.

It cracks me up to still see these posts about EOTM only being a k-train, just shows you haven’t visited the place in awhile. That pretty much went away over the last month or so and the k-train is about dead. EOTM is a killing field most of the time now with the benefit of nice PVE rewards on the side. I still split between WvW and EOTM but find that I enjoy the free for all battles on EOTM better. Maybe it is just more fun to see your personal hand in slaughtering a zerg or catching roamers who are sloppy because they are used to killing up levels and not wvw oriented players.

Most of the time? Not really, although perhaps a lot more often than it use to be, would be more fun then. Sometimes because one side has a more fight oriented commander, but then both of the other sides tends to dissipate and go to a different copy of EotM after being killed a few times. If it was more of a ‘killing field’ then it would be more interesting. As is, a few of us just go in occasionally to do something silly, usually with the expectation of all of us dying and yet still end up wiping a zerg by accident >.>

If you want to ktrain, EotM would still be the fastest place to go as things are, just sometimes won’t end up on a map that is ideal for ktraining. Still quite fast to level. But no one should be surprised when they are killed. It was designed with that intention in mind.

Haha Sorry but its still a k-train, Up-lvl leveling map. A friend of mine just a few days ago talked me into finally going into EoTM again because him and a friend had alts they wanted to level.. I was a guardian so he told me I was to protect them. LOL

Rarely did we engage in a zerg vs zerg fight and most of the players I did run into were very very easy to kill. At times I had a pack of up-lvl’s trying to beat on me but in the end they all died. The zergs we did run into died so fast and didn’t put up much of a fight.

Almost every enemy player I ran into was low ranked and not even bronze ranked yet.. I died a few times but it was from getting feared off some edge. People were calling out zergs on the map and the commander was cool enough to ask the players what they wanted to do such as:

You guys want bags? Champ loot? Karma? wxp? exp?

And maybe 2 people said bags.. The rest of map said “I’m just here for wxp and exp” or “Karma please”

He actually said once “Sorry guys but I want some bags” and we went and slaughter the other zerg in probably 20 seconds. I didn’t even get many bags since they all died so fast..

All we did was run around and PVD stuff since that’s what the map voting on doing. Also the skill level of players on this maps is crazy low so if you have fun killing unskilled players feel free to call it a killing field. I’d bet 100% of the groups you run into normal WvW would give you a much better fight.

You also won’t get better at killing zergs that are most likely half up-lvls but if this is what you are having fun doing then go for it. Even normal WvW pugs zergs are harder to kill compaired an EoTM zerg.

It is nothing like that now a days since most players in these videos were not uplvls and from what I’ve seen a few days ago EoTM is full of uplvl’s. Either way having fun is all that matters but the reason why people say what they say about EoTM is because it is true..

I pop into EOTM fairly often so I have a better feel than you for what the average experience is like now. I guarantee you that zerg fighting is on “average” more likely and there are enough experienced level 80s on all sides to make it interesting. There are still some sessions where it is a PVD borefest and people avoid fighting but I don’t stick around for those.

Unfortunately, I just get bored with the regular WvW most of the time except for those occasional moments of intense competitive battles. No doubt that regular WvW has better potential, it just isn’t happening for the various reasons people have shared on this forum. I do hate the lack of organization on EOTM compared to WvW but in some ways it is a refreshing change to have some chaos to deal with.
