Edge of Mists = Always Outnumbered
are you trying to drop the responsibility of low attendance of the servers you’re paired with on Anet?
Desolation is Red this week and we’re outnumbered constantly yet we manage somehow and get stuff done.
Even yesterday we rekt an Overgrowth blob at Pilot balloon while being outnumbered like two times, and no AC got used.
But well, if people are going to play maddie mode and port and zerg opponent 10~15man zerg to just get few loot bags and camp fort like no tomorrow, then it’s no wonder people leave eotm.
So after having 2 weeks of actually being able to play in Eotm, without the “outnumbered” buff all the time, we’re now back to being a zerg of less than 10 and trying to cap things.
Since Arena Net will not even give us a reply here, the only sollution is to server switch. But how do I even see what servers are matched up together in Eotm?

The server that is top T1 is more likely be green (SFR for EU, BG for NA)… The server that is last should be red for most time (FoW for EU, AR for NA).
There are also some servers that are locked in glicko gaps, like SoS who is permanently green untin a T1 server colapse, or a T2 server get stronger. Or GoM which got locked on bronze until either HoD or BP collapse (or Darkhaven get stronger). I don’t know if a case like this happen on EU.

So we decided to play some EoTM tonight, had a decent sized group with around 30-50 players in our zerg. And what happens? Green constantly following us round the map with their 500man army 1hitting us.
We are unable to do anything except provide free loot to the enemy, or spend the 3hours afk in the safety of our base with the invulnerable buff. Is that really how you want this battle map to be played out?!
As Grym said, pay to play, and move realm. So sad and pathetic that is the sollution to the problem.
We’ve not even had an official responce, or comment on the MANY sollutions and suggestions made in this thread to counter this problem. The complete lack of interest is shocking and frustrating.

This is nuts really, fix it Anet please or more people will just stop doing Eotm and the balance will be worse. I’m on Tarnished Coast, any ideas what NA server would be best to switch to to be on Green then lol? I’m shocked as well Anet isn’t even responding to this issue.

Anet problably didn’t bothered with this because EotM was never meant to be balanced. The drastic differences between each color objectives show that by itself.
Also you can never have balance when you have the colors pairing changing every week when the servers shift position on the actual WvW ladder.
If winning is that important to you you should be dedicating to help your server in actual WvW and not playing EotM imho.

I’m not dedicated to winning but it would be nice to not die every few minutes. Is that my fault too, maybe I’m just a bad player or something.

Just to clear up they play normal WvW and not EotM for what they’re referring to.
Anyways since the team/servers in EotM is based on what color they have in WvW that week, it is largely random for most of them. So there isn’t a clear solution what server to move to. BlackGate is the one that have the highest chance to be green each week but it is in no way set in stone, and it is also full so you can’t transfer there.
Also, people transferring to try to be on green is also a part of the problem of why it isn’t any fun to play as red/blue. The more people that do the same, the less fun it is for anyone on blue/red to play.
Most commonly the problem isn’t that red/blue has less people, but that green/blue/red fights, and one of them wins (often the green), and then all the players on red/blue just quits, logs out, goes back to PVE, or something else. Often they try to find other “instances” of EotM and see if it is the same there.
I’ve seen a bunch of times when the other colors Red/Blue wins the initial fights, and Green and the other color leaves the map instead. But it is less common than Green winning.
In EU Seafarers Rest used to have stacked so much people onto that server, that whatever color SFR was on, won EotM without any contest. From what I’ve heard, it seems they broke up, and is in line with other servers again.
(To be fair, the largest problem with balance in EotM is that people leave if they lose, and then more leave, and then more. As long as that remains, nothing ANet can do to fix it.)

They would need a technology/system for that. And one that doesn’t split people from guilds, friend lists, and servers too much up etc. So they need some sort of static setup, instead of just sending each person to random place.
Say you’re in a guild of 20 that decides to play EotM together, as you join the system picks the first and sends to red, next to blue, third to green, forth to red etc. That wouldn’t be very fun either. But on the other hand, an organized guild with 20 members will most likely win an entire EotM match alone if they want to.
The largest problem isn’t that red/blue/whatever is outnumbered, but that if they lose once, then a bunch of players leave, thus making it outnumbered. If you just keep adding people to that instance of EotM you end up with more people just afk’ing at spawn, or leaving because they “lost the map” and got no commander etc.
So sending all new players to the losing sides of EotM isn’t necessarily going to fix anything.

EOTM doesnt need to be balanced, it is there so u have a wvw “like” place to rumble around in for a few minutes, while ur in a que waiting to get into real wvw… and for the devs to test stuff. Thats it, thats all… stop trying to turn EOTM into something its not lol give it a rest and go real wvw for once…. zzzzzzzz
