New week, new match. Here we will discuss the events of this week’s match.

I’m pulling for SF. Get your act together guys, you were up in the ranks and initially dominating us (DH) and SoR. But here’s to a good fight all around! I don’t think I’ve ever been there to face GoM but I know Ehmry Bay is pretty strong. Hope it’s a good match! Good luck!

on SF borderlands (I’m SF) we took EH keep, then EBay took it back from us. But before they capped we brought reinforcements and wiped them. There were about 30 of us at the throneroom doorway and less than 10 EBay invaders inside the room. 5 seconds more and we would have wiped them completely but they capped the keep and the keep lord respawned with an invincibility buff with a 3m duration. Needless to say he 1shot us all and it sucks we couldn’t save our keep. :/

(SF) Did not expect this match-up this week. So far all sides are going strong! A good showing early on by EBay. Look forward to seeing how this week plays out.

For the first time in a while, EBay’s night team is holding its own. Great job guys.

Seems like the servers are actually very nicely balanced.

Had some EB guys holed up in the mine with about 10 arrows carts and a couple ballistas. Kept trying to get our guys to charge you so when they wouldn’t I stealthed in and managed to kill a few before anyone got off an arrow cart. Looking forward to another great night of WvW.

GoM needs some late night into morning groups badly. Prime time is even among these 3 servers. Definitely good times.

From the queue stats ANet released from 2 weeks ago, EBay has the largest WvW population followed by GoM having a slight larger population than SF. From the first day so far, EBay has the largest population overnight and SF and GoM seem to surge back and forth in the morning and afernoon. At night (peak) the worlds are all fairly equal.

I predict SF will pull profit at week’s end by selling GoM on EBay for a win.

I wouldn’t trust 2-week old queue data. Server populations change too rapidly. Just last week we were getting creamed after midnight eastern — seemed Ehmry didn’t have much of a west coast presence, much less European. Suddenly, though, we’re doing okay again after midnight.

Today was a bit odd. Ehmry was doing great in the morning then suddenly Gates of Madness showed up with a wild zerg at something like 1pm eastern. By 5pm or so they seemed to fade out and a wild Sorrow’s Furnace zerg started taking over. Ehmry was barely hanging on in prime time, struggling to keep the income above 190 at times, putting us in 3rd place for income. Our first place total score buffer is holding out but being whittled away at!

GoM has been coordinating well in EB and in the Borderlands. It warms my frozen heart.

Oh man. Sorrows Furnace, you guys were relentless in that Etheron attack. In the end your zerg fell short in our meat grinder. Nice try guys!

Late last night was really interesting. Actually, I’m curious about the comment(s) above about Ebay having the largest WvW population. That can’t possibly be true?! I mean, maybe it is; do you have a source for it? It certainly doesn’t feel that way, on our end. My guild was in GoM border last night, and there was no queue for it at all, all night long. We did our best, and held our corner of the map for a good long time, before getting sort of pincered between green on the left, and red on the right, basically exterminating us from the map before resuming their own fight. We put up a few valiant stands at the two supply camps near our entrance, though Just wasn’t enough to stand up to two teams who wanted us gone from the map.

Really good match so far, guys!

Umm Ehmry is a low pop server compared to others, and it’s more casual than anything lol

I’d like to mention that though these individuals have “led” an offensive in the south of GoM BL, it was also the equal effort of the group of individuals who defended the northern half of GoM BL, as well as forking out a limb to make sure the towers and keeps are Tier 3 upgraded.

So cheers to the offensive force, but as well as the defensive/upgrade force.

Not likely, unfortunately. I’m not sure if the rumors of a mass exodus last week are true or not but I was on tonight at 9:30PM with the undermanned buff in one of our zones and we held literally 0% in one of the others. We’re in last place and sinking like a rock. But good luck to you.

+1 to that, gosu. Everyone was helping with the boring, but necessary, stuff. There were no shortage of blueprints being offered, folks running supply back and forth, and there were even two small groups running protection on dolys. Offense is more fun, but good defense is crucial.

The issue I think most people have is how “coincidental” the timing of the orb hacks were. GoM attacked etheron hills with an unorganized group and was easily wiped, population in the zone was slightly in their favor even though they had no keep in the SF borderland.

Twenty minutes later Dreaming Bay falls quickly, orb dissapears from our keep and immediately appears in that keep. Five minutes later GoM (primarily appeared to be the guild PRO) with 3-5 alpha siege golems steamrolls into the hills keep with a zerg that was now three times larger then the previous attack minutes earlier. After we wiped them, they leave the borderland.

Ten minutes later, the orb is hacked on another borderland and I’m assuming a huge zerg “magically” was there as well. These are not the actions of one “hacker”, its a coordinated effort by many people on your server.

I ditched GoM the 2nd week into launch because they had no organization or directive. They are also renowned for cheating and hacking. I hope they plummet further in the rankings.

Looks like GoM can join the list of Hacking Shame then, probably right behind Mag.

No, you people are cheaters. Your entire WvW community is in on it, and you’re a liar (or not invited to the shenanigans) if you say otherwise.

If you see something like that happen on your team, then join in and take advantage, you are NO BETTER than the hacker who started it.

I hail from GoM. I was in WvW all day Sunday running with various commanders. I am not aware, or ever have been, of a hacking scheme or plan on our server. Most of our population detests whoever is doing this on our server and wish they would stop. We have lost some of our strongest guilds due to this problem. Note we went down 4 in the rankings this week. Our reputation is damaged by the few.

I did witness someone from SF go inside the Bay take the orb with all gates in tact and not dying at the champion podium. I’m not putting any blame out there, but it would seem whoever is doing this orb hacking doesn’t pick sides. They are just getting a kick out of doing it, period!

That has to be the most ignorant thing I’ve read on these forums yet. That is the same as saying “All Muslims are terrorist”.

As Davinna.2067 stated, the community that is working to rebuild and repair the reputation of Gate of Madness detest whomever is doing this. I have yet to personally catch anyone hacking and if I did they would be quickly reported with screenshots as I imagine majority of our community would do as well. We’ve lost a lot of good guilds due to this and a blanketing statement like that to a community versus a individual or even a few individuals doesn’t help. We are not the only server out there with individuals ruining the gaming experience for their servers.

If you want to blame anyone, blame ArenaNet for their lackadaisical approach to a) tracking down the root of the bug/exploit or b) not making /report usable by any server for these reporting purposes (aka clicking on the hacker and reporting them) or c) removing the orbs until they can provide a solution.

I reported the source of 2 prominent hacking softwares (added a whole bunch of little “goodies” such as teleportation, no-obstacle (could fly, run through the ground, through walls/mountains, bots, etc in 1-2 “convenient” little tools) as well as how to download and run them to ArenaNet already that were being used by small groups in SoR. Here’s hoping something gets done about that (whether it be tracking their use and banning, or blocking their functionality altogether).

I know this is not all of them… there are likely dozens… but perhaps that will be a blow to these worthless losers.

My guild watched the orb magical teleporting the other day as well… I believe that is the moment we decided to withdraw from the battle and just focus on our own objectives (gearing up, helping our lower level members get through storylines and xp, building up our crafting, etc).

If ITM decides they need reinforcements, we’re there if we’re called upon… though otherwise I know a lot of SF who are angry about this being the 2nd week in a row this kitten is done to us, and are quickly losing any interest in WvW, as great and fun as it is.

Some good guilds on GoM, like CYT, no need to be saying all of them are cheaters when that is very clearly not the case. What players need to do though, is recognized when they just gained benefit from such actions and withdraw or do what you can to make it right.

If I see SF steal an orb I will not defend that orb or anything close to it until it has been taken back. Also call it out, make it clear to your entire server that you think someone on your team just cheated. Sometimes, folks are just unaware that it happened and keep on playing as they normally would.

I didn’t say all of GoM cheats… just as I didn’t say that about SoR last week. I found some of SoR who cheated, I found out how they did it, and sent that info to ArenaNet.

Now that I know how members of SoR did it, I know how members of GoM are doing it here.

However, even if 1% (a VERY small number) are using these software hacks, that 1% is suddenly more powerful than the entirety of the other 2 servers you’re opposing altogether. Nothing can really stop them. SF and EBay can assemble both of their entire zergs, join forces and strike directly at these 1% GoMs, and will be defeated. No point.

Not saying they all do… but enough of them do hack that it is destroying WvW.

I know what I saw. I was there. Were you there? If not, you can’t possibly tell me what I saw or even give an excuse.

Orb got hacked and within moments your server mysteriously mobilized at exactly the spot they needed to be on? On TWO DIFFERENT BORDERLANDS within minutes of each other?

Yeah man, tell me another how the vast majority of people there were just “unaware” and “playing as they normally would.”

I have a lot of patience for a lot of things, but cheating isn’t one of them.

Reported, yes. Nothing I could screen-shot, since I wasn’t standing there when the hacker struck.

Part of the problem, though? I think not. I play fair. I call out cheaters and I report when I see it.

Name calling and insults against the terms of use. I never singled anyone out, but you have – and that’s against the forum guidelines.

I agree with Sojourner, though not certain how wide-spread the issue is or if I can confirm his estimation of the severity is accurate. I’ve seen what one small group with these hacks can do. I’ve seen the hack software and how it is used specifically (two different software packages).

I didn’t see the zerg appear as he did. I saw small groups perform these tasks from both SoR and now GoM.

But, given what I have seen, I will not say it isn’t possible.

Hi, im from SF, last nights few hour long battle inside of StoneMist was awsome, seen 2 omega siege golems, was fight using my golem to fightem. Thats rite Gom,Ehmry, I am the fella who kept returning with golems, and man was that a blast. Costed me 4 gold to get that castle, but well worth it haha. Spent 6 gold 6 golems last night, Was interesting on all sides. That fight at SM is one No side can ever forget! Now today i must farm so i can return with a army of golems XD Good Fight all.

I agree with what Sojourner says, even if one single person on any given server hacks then the entire server is responsible, how many times have you seen hackers and exploits take orbs etc..and the very same server pretty much supporting them and actively defending to keep what is essentially stolen?

Sure you can go down the asinine route by blaming Anet, but in all reality it still boils down to individual responsibility – even if Anet banned some of these hackers, more will just take their place – W3 needs some significant fixes to prevent what is going on right now, look at all the threads ~ how sad this really is to say – there probably isn’t one single W3 matches which are being played out fairly and if these hacks are allowed to exist, it’ll spell doom for the game in general.

No matter the end-score this week, I see GoM as third place regardless because of the sheer amount of hacks used in the past few days, very shameful indeed.
