That’s good idea, also maybe give after each week to players on realm few temporary titles that others can rally around.

Of course, that goes back to the whole “Commander” issue; how it’s bought and not earned. By fighting valiantly, a player should be given the opportunity to advance in “rank”. It wouldn’t do anything, but I’d be more inclined to rally around a Commander or Sergeant if I knew that those titles meant that they were distinguished professionals who know what they’re doing and can be counted on to get the job done (as it were).

I think what hes saying in the subject is a Signature person. Like in DCU it would be Superman, much like in COH we had Statesman. He means someone like Eir, or Logan Thackary come in and battle with the server thats underdog or one for each server. That would bring LOTS of people into WVW to see the major character there. In COH, for certain events, they would bring one of the sig heroes to a zone and tell everyone thanks for playing and stuff. Its a good idea.

I think what the OP is saying is he would like an elite NPC to aid in the fights between servers. You would somehow “recruit it” (build it or some kind of achievement or maybe a replacement for the outmanned buff?). You could only have one of him and he would have a TON of health while put out a TON of damage, or perhaps different variations of such an epic NPC that could give amazing boons to teammates? He would still be killable of course, but nowhere near as easy as to kill one of the NPC’s at at the keep or campsites.

I noticed he mentioned something along the lines of what I expanded upon, but hey, recruitable NPCs would be just as fantastic. Maybe Svanir or a random dragon?
Of course, we’ll get the same complaints we got about orbs.
Well, I suppose legendary npc’s could be added as an upgrade to towers or keeps as a secondary line of defense.
Not quite sure how you’d be able to add them to the game for offensive purposes though, as that relies on a whole new level of coding and the pathing required for the AI would require immense amounts of work – Since obviously you wouldn’t want such an npc out in the open, escorting a dolyak.
And why wouldn’t you want such an npc escorting a dolyak?
I’d agree though, programming an offensive npc might be a pain and prone to bugs/exploits.

This is what I was thinking about. You guys pointed out it would be hard to code for an NPC like this, and I agree…
But it would be worth it! Right?
(I liked the idea that it might be more available to the underdog of a game. Good idea).
The Asura Race is Epic enough
Isn`t the grub outside of the green fortress and the tree elemental outside of the red near the supply camp epic since you need alot of people to take them down.
But I`ve always thoguht there should be some sort event that would happen when one side got to far ahead (like by 50,000 or 100,000 points)like an invasion force or environmental effect.
in City of Heroes, there were points to capture, much like here. when one side took x amount of them, an announcement was made in the zone that reinforcements were heading to the latest captured point. usually 2-3 of the signature character npcs would spawn and run to that area wiping out anything in their way. this allowed the losing team to have a lil help capturing that point back, and allowed the winning team a chance to kill the sig characters for badges and xp. The characters were tough, but no tougher than a standard champion here. This would be the easiest fix and way to implement this into GW. Just have them spawn and follow a set path to the camp and aggro normally as per champion aggro and behavior.
