YOU ARE NOT THE INVENTOR OF WORDS!!! lol
I was on another thread and saw a post about a players exp in wvw and decided to write my own. If anyone would like to share your stories jot them down here.
Today I was sitting just outside tarnish coast garrison holding the sentry and had a group of 5 sor players come to take it from me I went into stealth and ran off as thieves often do. After capping the point the five sor players went to take the camp to the north so I decided to follow them. When we got to the camp they ran strait in and as they started to attack the npcs I seized this opportunity and attacked a fellow thief that was at half health and downed him. At this point realizing a enemy thief was among them they all switched target to me. I dodge rolled around for a moment and then fled up the watch towers ramp. Once there they continued to try to shoot me but only hit the bottom of the ramp as the npcs chipped away at there health till they were all downed (ohh it was yummy). I jumped down and stomped all but the one that had agro on the quartermaster, and took this time to do some dmg to it while it killed the downed sor player. After killing the npc I sat there capping and a necro came along stop me. After a little of this and that the necro was down at my feet, but as I went for the stomp I was feared away. A second necro had come, and before I could do anything he had revived the downed player. At this moment the centaurs attacked saving my life and giving me the time to escape…. If only I would have taken the opportunity, but blinded by my rage and blood lust went at the wounded necro sadly in my haste I had missed that the players from the battle before had already set upon the camp and were so close behind me I could have felt their breath.
Sounds like quite an experience, Silent. I’ve had a number of memorable times in the past 6 months of WvW myself.
Just the other day, for example, I was heading along the road toward the NE sentry in BG BL. I saw figures materialize ahead and then saw it was a BG group of about 20ish. I turned and ran for TC controlled Hills keep. I used every trick I had, but engies simply don’t have the CC removal to run well. So, I was run down at the base of the incline, where the approach to Hills north gate is. Another TC in the area was also run down. Then the BG zerg went back north for some reason. Rather amusing in hindsight, as it seemed they came south just to run down two ppl. :P
Another time (and another matchup), I encountered another engie near Lake tower and proceeded to have a 5 min duel. At the end, a TC mes came along and started to fight the engie. Not wishing to have a 2v1, I went inside the tower and proceeded to watch the mes lose, then the engie left the area.
Then there’s the time I ran across the FA NERF guild havoc group of engies. That did not end too well.
Anyway, I digress, and I’m sure there’s others with better stories. :P
My best war story was definitely the Siege of Ascension Bay, that occured in the final week of Borlis vs. SBI at the end of June/early july.
We had pretty much been running roughshod over SBI Borderlands all week and they were out to make a point that yes, they can take our keeps too. What ensued was 4 hours of nearly constant battle, us defending, SBI attacking. Sending in ever greater waves of enemies. SBI engaged the Keep Lord numerous times, and numerous times we were being pushed all the way to the back before launching desperation Banzai charges. On at least 2 occasions they were capping and we were saved by the Waypoint reopening and allowing us to respawn and clash again. I don’t think I have ever fought a battle quite like that. Going at a horde of enemies with my daggers while trebuchet shots rained down on me while my buddies behind me fired back with Arrow Carts and fiery great swords. Was epic.
That day, Bay became my favorite keep. Not for its defensive ability, which is decidedly sub par, but rather, for its potential to trigger epic battles and epic deeds. Some youtube of another Bay fight. Not the one listed above, but no less epic.
