Eternal Battlegrounds Jumping Puzzle + Siege Weapons?
It is possible to clear out the groups of players that camp that chamber but it requires team work and siege of your own. Which logically make sense. If 5-8 players are using siege then you need 5-8 players using siege against them.
Where do you put the counter siege? In a location shortly after you zone into the jumping puzzle. Instead of starting the puzzle go down the stairs and turn to your right. There is a platform that is level with the area they are sieging you from. You can build siege there and blast them out of that location.
Hint: You can first go to where I described, grab a 4 minute invisibility boon and scout the enemy. If no one is there with siege then you have a window of opportunity to complete the puzzle.
If you are a solo player and already at the bottom of that chamber then you are at a severe disadvantage. There are methods to get to the top that can be sort of successful. But no matter what if you do not have equal numbers to kill them all then you will not proceed. They have a mesmer with them and they will come down to save a buddy and kill you.
I spent 3 hours getting to the end of the puzzle, fighting the whole way. Then we aoe’d the arrow carts down in arena and got through. kitten right first thing i did was drop a ballista. The whole thing was some of the most fun pvp i have experienced.
Some people just want the achievement easy mode, but this is wvw and it makes it 10 times more fun and interesting fighting your way through.
I would completely agree with everyone on the “It’s PvP in a PvP zone” and the “If you want to PvE stay out of WvW” sentiments except for one small detail. ANet has made it so that if you want to have 100% world completion, you have to complete the WvW jumping puzzles, way-points, and points of interest. Now you’ve mad it so that an achievements oriented, PvE player has to go into PvP, even if normally they would never set foot in there.
I think the best solution would be to make world completion based on only PvE objectives. That way people will stop queuing inot the WvW areas just to do the puzzles, opening up spaces for people that truly want to PvP.
Swash – Human Necro, Swarsh – Char Thief
Fist of the North – SBI
I liked the argument that someone needed 500 badges and thats why they did jump puzzles.
Wait. Thats horrible.
Maizen Blue – Thief
Anet will bust their kitten to block deploying siege in spawn points, but not even a post about laying siege down in the jumping puzzle. If a realm is knocking on the towers adjacent to your spawn, they pretty much own at least 2/3rd of the map anyway. Is it really that important to keep the little guy down? Who cares if they recap one measly tower. But griefing with siege in the jumping puzzle is okay? Priorities!
What I would like to know:
- Why is there a non-pvp event or puzzle in an area that should require all players to participate?
- Why is a jumping puzzle awarding blueprints?
- Why is there a giant grub in EB?As long as you are doing these why not also introduce fishing in wvw while you are at it or suntanning on top of areas or how about whoever can stay under water the longest?
This is a pvp area and should not distract players from the objectives…especially when there are tons of players like myself who are in queue for hours while some d.er.ps are killing a grub, doing jumping games or harvesting onions.
Simple answer is simple.
It’s world PVP. You cannot have world PVP with out PVE. The place is not named Player vs Player vs Player. It’s named World vs World vs World.
Want pure PVP? There is already structured PVP available for you.
But I do agree with the bad placement of the grub. Anet should create a dungeon that can only access inside of Stone Mist where the grub would be hiding.
