Guild Wars 2

Hey guys,

I’m currently playing on EU and looking for a strong prime time NA server. The tier 1 servers are full, so Blackgate/TC/JQ are not among the list. I’m personally thinking either Fort Aspenwood or Yak’s Bend (Rank 4 and rank 5 respectively). I have no first-hand experience however, and would like you guys to convince me why I should join either of these two servers for a strong prime time.

Additional info: I’m already in a semi-hardcore WvW guild in EU, so I’m not interested in prime time guild raids, just pug base, really. (I wanna have some decent fights)

It depends on what you are looking for in your WvW experience. FA (in my experience) seems to have better overall coverage for all time zones, and prefer open-field fighting (often in large groups). However, if you prefer a more strategic focus (PPT) or enjoy a good defense-oriented fight, I would recommend YB (YB are masters bar none at siege/counter siege warfare). Either way, both servers are well populated and have a devoted WvW player base.

He is right on there. SoS is also a good choice though they are usually the underdog in the T2 matchups (props to SoS for putting up the good fight though!). They seems to be an acceptable middle ground of playstyles in T2, and their roaming groups are always good fun to fight.

Na prime might present que issues on fa. Even YB can have que issues if a large pug group tries to map hop. Reset is a 4 BL que on both. Sbi has a huge ebg presence na prime – another place to consider for casual pug mode – don’t know about queues (if any)

Yaks is a siegehumping server? My guild went roaming a couple days ago. Just 6 of us. We were on FABL. We went to north camp. Guess what we found there? 3 superior AC’s, 4 ballistas, and 2 normal AC’s, upgraded camp, and about 20 people.

Guess what happened? You lost the camp against 6 people without a single one of us dying after about 30 minutes of fighting. Can you spell

I don’t understand. Those 20 people were bad but how does it make “yaks bend is a siegehumping server” untrue? :|

I have an account on YB and I lost count at like 11 ACs in a paper SMC lord’s room alone. I don’t even see that in T1.

Let me clarify: I’m looking to play only prime time, probably in EB for some farmfest, possibly borderhop monoblobbing. Just some semi-mindless zerging after my EU guild’s raid. In short – I’m looking for a server with good pug vs. pug fights.
