I’m on Jade Quarry, most of my friends are on that server, then I bought the game for my friend and the server was full, for 3 months. Eventually she just made a character on some other server, and we played a bit, but I really would like to WvW with her, and it’s lame that one of us (me) has to pay to switch over to her server when she couldn’t ever get into mine.

I thought ANet was supposed to be helping population issues. This sounds like it would allow people to play merry hob on population issues, only to go back and blame Anet that they let them do this.

I remember in the past they did something like this, because I started on Isle of Janthir, and all my friends jumped over to Jade Quarry, so I did too. It was for a limited time, we could transfer ONCE.

They should bring that back, but without the time limit, so my friend could at least try to transfer into JQ, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this.

IMO you should get one in the Birthday gift. I like to move around servers to experience different fights but it is cost prohibitive to experience the different server cultures.

Birthday gift, that’s a pretty good idea too!

I think some of you are confusing a “free transfer”, with the idea of a free opportunity to bypass the full server status. Those are two very very different issues.
