I can’t help but see the QQ on the forums and not have to chime in. I need to put it down flat that alot of people were excited about this live beta. Of course your queue times will be longer. And they probably will every reset like they always are. As the week goes on you can expect queues to become lower. And overall this patch will not go over well with a lot of people, so you will see people who have different expectations leave again, or leave all together.

We all collectively asked Anet to address WvW. I personally love this linking and haven’t been excited for wvw in a long time. Even though I play on a high their server as a roamer, having a lower their server used to small group activities gives me more people to play with. Roaming isn’t going to die and I believe this linking beta will help revive some small group skirmishes. I finally stepped into the desert borderlands last night and had fun scouting and roaming.

So please, Anet, realize people come on the forums to QQ than they do to recognize your hard work. You’re doing amazing and alot of people in game love the change, you can see it in your logs.

Abaddon wasn’t complaining about the patch. Actually we were looking for it, hoping to get more player on our maps, especially in the primetime. Considered links for german servers would have been Dzago with Miller and Aba with Drakkar. those would have been fine for us.
But what we are meeting are a rank 10 and a rank 11 server, linked with another one and we are (rank15) left alone. Aditionally i have to mention that right before that matchup, the times we have been matched with those serrvers they already had much more active wvw players than we have.
That’s why we are complaining, we hoped for more times, we can actually play on the maps, and get punished by being pushed into nightcapping, more and more

The update in general is really nice

P.S. any wvw guild that is tired of queues: feel free to join our server, we didn’t even have any on the reset night ^^

You love this change. That’s fine. But then you complain about complainers who may not like (yet) or just some part of the details – and thus giving feedback about that, which may seem as complaining or QQ (and some it is, because it’s not formulated in a constructive way: as in this I don’t like, because reasons, and this example could be a way to address it).
Complaining about complainers is wrong; and way more useless than their “QQ” – that at least is 1/3 of the constructive feedback, though that should be 3/3.

ArenaNet did well with these latest changes, though it’s far not enough yet, to save WvW. Population imbalance still persists and will become far worse in time if a server starts winning consistently and others losing constantly. More changes needed, especially addressing time zone coverage.

Also the scoring system needs reworked, changed. Class balance, gear and so on, still needs attention. Even rewards, maybe adding a long term chance for obtaining a legendary in WvW for example. And so on.

But what is good: they had the courage to start changing things. That’s awesome, even if it’s way too late for many, but at least those new to the game, may find a better game mode one day. Anet must keep doing changes, reverting or modifying as necessary, and then keeping the best working variant.

Everyone can’t be pleased with every change; ArenaNet should focus on the majority of players, on what’s best for keeping WvW alive and even fun. But “QQ” shouldn’t be ignored, because that “QQ” shows that there is a “collateral damage” despite the good intentions. Everyone can’t be saved: but the changes cannot stop because of that, WvW just received a breath of fresh air, which won’t last forever, if this “surgery” won’t succeed. Stopping now and here is not an option, fixes must keep coming until balance is achieved.

I love the patch , I just hate the queue
btw I just notice , some server now are full or use to be 500 gems to transfer now 1000 gems and server that cost 1000 gems now 1800 gems
btw , I always wonder , how wvw work ????
say the server hold 300 people
do they limit each server 100 people able to log in ?
or 300 people and 1st come 1st serve ?
like if 150 from dragonbrand log in wvw , that leave 150 spot open for the other 2 server ?

1st come 1st serve ?

Yes.
No places are reserved or limited.
Everyone gets in queue and enters in that order (or instantly if there’s none).
There’s a map limit of about 40 to 80 (the exact number is secret), so only a maximum number of X players can be on the map from each side at the same time. There are 3 sides; red, green and blue, so X * 3 = total numbers from all 3 sides.

Queues show that a server is alive, that there are players that want to get on that map — it’s a GOOD thing.
If you or anyone have no time to wait in queues:
1. select another map
2. transfer to a server without queues
3. play something else, at least until you have more time, not just ~2hrs (WvW is a 24/7 game mode, not something empty 22/7, think about that)

Also the current situation is just temporary, it’s a beta test. There are still servers with maps that are not queued, and likely most servers have no queue at all on any maps, outside the NA timezone evenings or outside during weekends.
“No queues” is fine, but no players at all on the maps, or not enough players on either side, during any timezone – that’s very bad. That is what should be no. 1 priority: having enough players all the time, balanced all the time.

Stop thinking only about yourself (not addressed to any single person, but in general) — think about what’s best for the WvW players in general. There are many games I can’t play either, because you have to log on during certain exact times to play those – and I can’t; but I won’t complain on their forums. There are games you can play, others you can’t – those games are meant for those who can.

Aeowia.7214 Stop thinking only about yourself ?
nope I wasn’t thinking about myself , I had read and posted many other we waited hours and gave up cuz they either have to go to bed or dinner , what ever
like I said I had also posted a question and NO ONE answer
question was , if from now on , we’ll be on queue for 1 to 2 hours
will anyone be happy about that ?
it is fun once your inside ,what about the ppl who are still waiting and ppl stay in for 10 hours ?
since 8 server – 4 = 4
and server use to be med 500 gems transfer now boost up to 1800 gems transfer cuz now they are high server , those are the part I do not like

When both can’t be satisfied with a change, then one has to be favored. Here it is WvW as a whole vs. me as a single player (or each of us with our individual needs).

If WvW fails, there won’t be game for no one. The whole WvW has to be put above individual needs. Or any of you see another way, a better solution? I hope you wish both. That includes the well-being of the game mode. True? What I’m saying: put the interests of WvW above, or there won’t be something to “long queue” for.

So far it’s about trying to find solutions. If there are none, the game mode will end. How these should be solved — that is the question. Any of you can think about anything else, a better way? Because WvW needs it. What is tested now is a start. How should be improved?

And yes, I prefer to “throw away money”, if WvW can be saved for most other players, even if I have to find another for myself. There has to be sacrifices sometimes, when it’s not possible another way. Life is more than just games; knowing that at some point I did the right thing, it’s a far greater reward. WvW has to be saved, for most players at least — even if cannot be for everyone.

Good for you. I don’t. I spent $40 on GW2. I spent $50 on HoT. I’ve spent about $100 or so on gems over the time I have played. That’s almost $200 on a game and I have every right to demand that ANet think of me as well as everyone else. After all, I contributed to keeping their paychecks coming as have many others.

You seem to have a sense of entitlement because you pay money to play the game. As far as I’m concerned you shouldn’t be put above anyone else, even someone who’s never spent a dime other than to buy the game and it’s expansion. You had the option to wait to buy said expansion or said gems but you went and did it anyway. You are in no position to demand that your needs be met because you spend money on a game. To be quite frank Anet wouldn’t see even a 1‰ decrease of revenue if you stopped playing or buying their items.

I apologize that you don’t like that changes but there’s 9 other people saying they want this over what you want. As the person said before you need to make sacrifices.

The point of a beta test is for feedback. No one is QQing we are pointing out concerns and potential issues. Exactly what a beta test is designed for.

It’s not that everyone wants instant gratification nor is it just about queue times. I’m unhappy about losing the server identity i had, the ability for personal contribution to actually affect a battle and the type of combat i enjoy totally destroyed. They should of actually put some thought into it and not combined the highest with the lowest tier. I did not want to play in a 11111 zerg fest, that’s why i was in tier 8 and not tier 11111. Small scale battles and roaming are essentially dead.

eb got queues most everytime i look now and im not playing in peak hours bls have quieted down a bit and i think they are nice now small squads can play but a roving zerg bounces back and forth on map. its better then before link on bls but the eb queue all day ill have toi try late night hours to see if there is queue there too. its not a big queue usually 2 people so not bad. i kind of think they should have left tier 1 alone maybe tier 2 too and linked tier 3 and lower

Quite the opposite. I think I deserve as much of a say as everyone else who has paid for this game. I don’t think I should just say “well, I guess that’s that. Time to find another game when I have invested money like everyone else has.”

You have testing going on and you have nothing but people constantly telling anyone who isn’t simply saying that everything is great and fantastic being told to shut up. That is not how testing works. It’s not QQ. It’s pointing out a things that we see wrong.

But hey, great way of flipping around what I said without actually bothering to read it and spewing it out in a completely different context. You should go into politics.

Also, those of us with jobs/income who enjoy this game and sink money into xpacks, gems, etc. … yea without us there is no game. Keep that in mind please.

You’ll say anything to make yourself justified won’t you? Lol. You mistake that I haven’t sank money into this game. You haven’t really said much but “I paid money so I want to be heard”. I don’t care how much money you put into this game, your voice is as loud as a free players.

I understand loss of server identity, I understand you not wanting to be lumped into t1 or t2. But the sad reality is even though those high population servers were high population to begin with, we needed that extra boost of players. Roaming has been revived and the borderlands now actually have people in them. This change was needed, everyone shouting that their wvw experience is ruined is because you let it. You can still do small operations on any of the maps regardless of queue, manage your time better and queue up before you intend to play.

Inb4 you say the high tier servers didn’t need you, guilds were stacking and dominating on all edges of the map. Now that we have an extra servers population to help us out we can even the odds and finally play a meaningful match without saying “were gonna do good but then x server is gonna push hard”.

Honestly don’t even bother replying because all you have to say is people who pay for the items are keeping this game alive, trust me when I tell you there’s a reason anet could care less about your individual voice.

Sorry but I need to hear this opinion from someone who LOST their borderland and community. Someone who doesn’t have a home or identity anymore. It’s easy for me to sit there and be like “this is great” when my borderland is still there and we just get more people coming and playing on it and more people to fight against. Because your borderland is larger and still controls the majority of incoming points and how the game is played, whereas the borderland merging with you is smaller and will have to adapt to ‘your’ culture and playstyle and they will have to accept ‘your’ name and ‘your’ community over anything they brought with them in the move.

There’s a reason anet didn’t just scrap all the borderland names and make new ones….the entire community would BE kittenED. Now instead, only 1/3 of the community ‘can’ be kittened and noone has sympathy cause the ones who can’t be kittened were already used to being just another pleb in blob.
