Those teams are always same sizes thou..
A football team 50 players vs 5 players .. No . It doesn’t work that way .

And to add to this analogy, the team with 5 players can just switch teams if they want and make it 51 vs 4 and also get the winning reward.

The whole system is flawed to be honest.

Looking at the “Ready Up” tonight following the closure of WvW Tournament, I could of sworn GH were placed third…. I thought it was gunna be a three way tie for 2nd so they maybe threw a curve ball in to the tournament standings to break the places up ..

As for rewards.. I hear what lower tier servers are saying, and it was said last time as well, but a tournament has winners and loosers, for a whole number of reasons.. server stacking, nighcapping, server populous imbalances, poor skill/tactics etc, etc, etc… fact is someone has to win and someone has to loose. I have played both sides of that coin and tbh the rewards are pretty meeehhh anyway its about having fun in the tournament , which ever way you can otherwise why bother… ok so we get 500 tickets for winning, which means 1 mist weapon and hero weapon or pack the remaining 200 tickets away for a rainy day. The rest of the rewards are all but trash.. a few greens and some coins yippadeedoodah (though the wvw liquid was nice) . Finishing last still gets you like 25o tickets so a hero weapon is still obtainable along with the rest of the trash loot and the chance to save up for something else in the future.

The meta is rewarded in its own way, so if you completed it then you got a whole range of rewards, if you didn’t then that’s too bad, they were made easier to do this time round – last time was much harder if your on a low ebb server believe me, I have tasted those tears :-(

We barely belonged there. But that’s fine, someone has to be at the bottom. But as a reward for getting gold tier, we got ZERO shiny weapons, instead of the two we probably would have gotten in silver tier. And they teased us with 275 tickets, just 25 shy of our weapon.

That’s a problem.

Cause if Anet did that you would still get people wanting more for their meta, and talk about how it’s unfair another server will get more weapon skins because they are more stacked.

Just of this as a huge RNG and it was determined by the server you picked. Some of us got precursors the first 4 yellows we threw in, some of us still waiting after 2 years and 10k gold and some of us doesn’t even care and it just dropped on our laps.

Actually, survival/political power IS the tournament in war. But deleting dead L80s would hurt their bottom line.

The reward for output is bad for lower tier servers. People won’t be too mad if they all can get at lest one Mistforged Hero’s Weapons (even the bottom server).

Gold will give everyone on that server 500 Ticket (which is good), but meta-achievement sure also give each person who complete it another 100 Ticket. That way the winning server can get Two Mistforged Hero’s Weapons.

Those at the bottom can get at lest one Mistforged Hero’s Weapons if they complete their meta. If not, than one sure get tickets base on how much percentages of the meta-achievement that they have done.

That way, people at Gold server will be happy that hey get Two Mistforge weapon and those people at lower server that work hard will get at lest one.

People than will not be switching server and leaving the low server, well, even lower in number.

Aren’t these weapons offered every tournament? So if you only got 100 tickets this tournament and bought a Hero weapon, you can get 200+ more next tournapoopie and get the gift to upgrade the Hero one~ meow?

My thoughts exactly. If we, Dragonbrand, were in silver we would absolutely dominate every server in that tier like we used to, and would have the gold reward. But we got into gold tier where their wvw population is a third (Mag) or more than twice our size. We cannot have a nice new skin, not even one. Even with spending ALOT of time completing the meta. And what is the reward for the meta? Oh boy! More ascended crafting mats and luck essence!

If you participated in the tournament you should at least get 1 weapon.

I spent few hours on the meta, and few more hours on the other achievements, and never really bothered to WvW again except for quick camp/land claimer/tower daily.
I feel like I deserve those 450 reward tickets the most!

That’s a foolish idea, but what we had was foolish as well.
It stands as a no-brainer to me that Gold league participants should get more than Bronze league participants. In that you are right, and ArenaNet is wrong, who thinks that bronze #1(top 19 server) is better than gold #9(top 9 server) and deserves better rewards.
And then you go ahead full kitten and say to give the first places less tickets per person, which is about just as bad sadly.
But I honestly can’t see that much of a problem. Server ranking should be global from 1-27 and obviously player from server ranked 9 should receive more than a player from server ranked 10, which is currently not the case(WTF?). We already have rewards for individual participation and that’s great. But splitting servers in 3 completely separate leagues, now that was an insane idea. Leagues should be connected with each other and signify another type of reward, such as a different-themed dolyak finisher for instance.

“Better Server”?
Only in the one aspect measured by ANets scoring function: Many more people during off-time.

Nothing else is relevant for winning WvW, boring, but still the case after nearly 2 years of evidence.

“deserves better (individual) rewards”?
As long as this merit is based on the unbeatable winning strategy of:

• make a first guess on the free-transfer servers, who will be stacked enough to win.
• stay way from EotM and WvW untill a winner is clear,
• spend some gems to go there if your first guess was wrong
• disturbe this worlds WvW-efforts as fewest as possible, by farming the meta in eotm,
  which is really harder than expected, as you are always green, and red and blue, are that few people, that quite often there is no non-green objective to farm left over.
• claim, that you are the best since ever (which is true you found and followed a clear winning strategy)

you really deserve the best individual rewards possible

Let it be like it is. Because if it’s gonna be like op wants then there is no tournaments when everybody gets the main prize (it’s is main now cause other things for tickets sucks). If you want to reward every server with weapon then the winning servers should have something more for being best. In this way people will whine again cause of servers who have more then them. There’s no system or style how to reward accordingly because people will always whine.

Also look at the state of wvw… Reward in pvp (tracks) which you can make in 4 days (25% a day) is more than reward for 9 weeks of bitc*ing in wvw.. One single tracks will give you more loot than this crap reward.

Rewards for server performance:

good but also kind of stupid. Skins should be personal rewards. Finishers they give out should be PERMANENT or last until the new winner of the next season are determined.

Add WvW Tracks like in pvp:

this is your personal reward track with various rewards. This allows you to get XYZ without having to depend on an entire server.

Do away with seasons:

any type of tourney or league with 3 teams fighting at once is flawed from the get go. There would have to be a mega overhaul of the WvW system for that. You could also form a new type of WvW with 2 servers fighting over multiple maps (maybe 2-3).

Rewards depending on bad players is flawed. Things like the Great wurm and teq, you can over come horrible players. The marionette achievements you couldn’t much of the time. As is rewards based on population in a league setting.

You can’t make bad players good if they don’t want to be good. You also can’t make up for 160 vs 80 or in the case of the lower tiered 40 vs 10.

So just give us reward tracks with decent rewards (decent = something other that 56000 greens).

Don’t worry, you’ll get your shinny weapons in gem store in 4 months when all PVE’rs will complain about it.

Let’s be honest here for a second. Your ranking has nothing to do with your individual contribution. Nada.

Rankings are determined by coverage, not by individuals. So someone on Desolation or Gandara hasn’t done more to deserve the rewards than say, someone on Fort Ranik or Elona.

It would make sense to reward people based on their achievements, but then all the transfers people would whine for not getting exclusive rewards they paid so much for.

Do three things.

1. Rewards are individual based on how much Meta you achieve. The more you play, the more you get. Including continuing to play for the entire tournament. None of this get your achievement in the first two weeks and then abandon your server and go back to PvE.

2. Winning servers get a fancy finisher as a reward. And maybe a glowing gold aura on something that they can show off until the next tourny.

3. No transfers for X weeks before tourney or during the tourney. Only reason to transfer now is WvW so this won’t affect PvE or sPvP.

i can not imagine how will be the zerg fights after the reward !

Is this post for real?

They just need to add a an unlockement of the skin in the wardrobe for 200 tickets (you don’t get a skin or weapon). Nobody cares about getting an exotic, they just care about the looks.

But you can still unlock hero`s weapon even 2 so right now you are crying that better servers get better rewards . This talk is infinite loop so just save your tokens for next tournament or www change who knows maybe in the future we will get tokens per week and there will be more rewards to choose .

I finished the meta during friday. I definitely deserve the full reward because I play in the server that happent to have free transfers before the tournament. This makes my actions in the Edge of Mists Karma train more important than the deeds of those who played in lower tier servers. It’s a tournament after all.

Yeah but the common soldiers aren’t given anything special :P. And winning a war doesn’t mean it’s good from the point of view of a soldier: the winning country can still suffer a lot more causalties.

If it’s easy or hard to do is besides the point, did you even read my whole message? Cause you certainly didn’t catch my point. Yes it was easy, I did it in 15 hours, I know cause I had a birthday booster on. I have no idea if that was fast or slow, but def faster than I thought it would be .. But … Guess who it was hardest for ? .. yes you guessed it, lowest populated servers ..
And i’m getting sick of people like you stereotyping the entire playerbase, i’m a pve-pvp and now also wvw player from time to time .. It is possible to enjoy all aspects of the game.

Only thing I am worried about is that Season 3 may not give tickets are reward and ANet will use completly different system. Like new reward tokens.

It will be tickets next time to, at least I heard from some people that they confirmed that in a livestream.

They mentioned it in livestream but that matters nothing.
They may change rewards whenever they want. We haven’t got tickets in first Tournament. We might not get them in third Tournament. And they will just say its because they listened to community.

In term of WvW i dont trust even single word from Anet, based on experience in past.

But remember that this game type is called world versus world vs world . It is battle of whole server not single person if you want more solo fight go spvp there is player versus player and everything depends on you not on night,morning,prime time shift .

They should have rewarded:
*)300 Token = Ascended weapon(mistforged skin);
or
*)Heroic weapon(100 token) + Gift of Batte(500 Badges of honor) + Crystalline dust + Elonian wine = Exotic weapon(mistforged skin).
2 years(4x winner) + 10k badges of honor seems more reasonable to me than those decades which are now required…(they still could have added another upgrade for those weapons for Season 6+)
