Guild Wars 2

I noticed failing to kill a carawan (it reaching its destination) or failing a mercenary camp (other faction capping it faster) counts towards the achievements. Is this intended?

Funny, I capped several mercenary camps this weekend, got credit for none. We call this WAD.

Well I keep getting credit if I only do one bit to the camps and then let enemies conquer it.
