Fall 2014 WvW Rewards Don't Add Up

it says you have to claim the tickets the following week, not spend them.
I see. The items in the table are referred to as the rewards, but what they’re implying is that the tickets are actually the rewards.

The tickets are the rewards, which you have to CLAIM, however, you do not need to spend your tickets, you can save them up over the weeks.
to be honest, the wording there is rather weird, i was confused about it too… logic dictates only the tickets had to be claimed, but we all know logic isn’t always the strong point of the dev team.
The announcement in case you missed it and wonder what this thread is about.

No, the wording isn’t weird. As it seems alot of people just only misintepretated the picture.
I’m no native English Speaker, I’m German and I also understood directly the blogpost so, that these ticket rewards count for each match up over the course of 4 weeks and have to be claimed each week after a match meaning that we lose the chance of claiming our ticket rewards, if we don’t claim our won tickets in that week after a match up. And thats exactly, what that other picture is showing also to us, when we can claim our tickets and when exactly the last days are, when we can claim our tickets.
Overall ,we can win a maximum of 800 tickets this time, if our servers win basically 4x within those 4 weeks of the Tournament.
So we will have at the end of the tournament enough tickets for guaranteed 1 mistforged hero weapon to basically maximum 2 mistforged hero weapons + 2 hero weapons for example or 2 mistforged hero weapons plus a gift of the hero.
What is really weird instead is, that as a non native english speaker they seem to have lesser problems with Anet’s announcements, than sometimes as it looks the native English Speakers misunderpretate their announcements.
This isn’t the first time where I see this happening in GW2 xD
I find it somehow funny, when those people with broken English understand sometimes things better, than those people, which grow up with a language from begin on
The reason before are confused is because of the original wording. Luckily ANET changed it to “claim”
There’s no reason to worry. The tickets themselves, once claimed, can be saved and redeemed at any time. If you are eyeing one of the Mistforged weapons, you can just accumulate your tickets from week to week until you have enough.
The segment is poorly worded. The paragraph says:
“Then, all you have to do is talk with the Battle Historian NPC during the next week’s matchup to earn your rewards. It is important to note: You must claim your rewards in the week following the matchup in which they were earned. Rewards that are not claimed during the following week will be forfeited. Please refer to the table below to make sure you don’t miss out on your rewards!”
Followed by a table of “Rewards” which consists of the various items. One would then assume the items are the rewards and thus must be claimed within the one week period afterwards.
