I’ve noticed recently it seems everytime I jump off a cliff I fall to the floor and receive no damage. Then a few seconds later as I begin to walk I stumble to the floor again and then lose health with a couple times lose enough health to die.
Are others experiencing this as well lately? This never happen to me before, as far as falling. It seems to happen everywhere now, even when not many people are on the map.

I’ve seen this, did you check if there was a bug report?
if not I’d say put one in.
It’s happening to everyone I guess, it can be frustrating sometimes. Surely they got plenty of reports about this, we’re probably getting a fix within next patch.

Yep. My guildies and I have been experiencing this constantly lately. It happens to me about 50% of the time that I jump off a cliff.
You jump off, take no damage, take a step forward and then magically appear falling again and you take damage again. I’ve even had it happen 3 times almost to the point of death.
This recently started happening so it’s something with one of the latest patches.
Yep. Been happening since the patch as far as I can tell. You fall down, take no damage, then fall again after a few steps and the damage registers. Pretty annoying bug but not game breaking.

I have experienced this as well. It seems to have started in the past week or so as I have never had it happened prior to then.
I’ve had mixed results with falling from the exact same place as well. Sometimes I fall, splat (nothing), get up, go to take a step, splat again and take damage. Other times as soon as I go to move I fall again. And again. Up to four or five times. Finally I’ll take damage at the bottom and break the cycle. I’ve also successfully fallen and taken fall damage, and the best one yet is the rare “fall, land on feet, take no fall damage” scenario.
Like I said, all four things can happen at the exact same place. It’s weird.

Also, I have been rubberbanding off jumps recently.
I don’t know if it’s happened to anyone else but I’ve noticed that sometimes when you die from a bugged fall you can’t be revived. Sometimes I try every possible angle and the Revive interaction never comes up.

sometimes i jump off tower walls and get two rolls of falling dmg that ended up killing me
thank god there wasn’t dura hit, but getting rezzed by whole tower of people gets kinda embarrassing
Yep, happens a lot, like pancaking into the ground once isn’t enough.
The best part was when I saw someone else go into the “fall loop”. They’d fall, hit the ground, teleport back up and repeat. It’s funny when it happens to someone else.

*giggle* Who eats JUST one pancake? It takes at least 3 to get a good stack going. That applies to the syrupy goodness that is Tarnished Toast too.
In some cases I get stuck in a time-space loop, and I just fall over and over again a number of times.
Yeah, it seems that last patch introduced a lot of bugs. I’m also having an issue where skills won’t activate if you’re standing on the edge of a tower wall, and it’s not a line of sight issue.

I’ve noticed the same goes for siege. If you’re too close to the edge when you man it, you can’t use it and the only way to get off is waypointing (F to leave brings up “You can’t drop bundles in air”)
Also, last night my fiance and I realized our toons were standing in mid air about 3 or 4 game feet from the edge of our tower and all was fine.
yup this bug has been reported in numerous ways and threads over on the bug forums and seems to have been since the last big patch. There are some players who seem to be more susceptible to the problem than others and some places like in the borderland jump puzzle where you can almost guarantee getting yourself stuck in a falling loop that will eventually kill you if you let it go on long enough.
Last nite our whole group went through a comical falling damage loop coming down the ramp towards Stargove with half of us ending up dead from multiple falls on a drop we normally take without issue. It was hilarious at the time watching 1/2 of us face-plant repeatedly on top of our guild leader but it would have really sucked if we had in been in hot pursuit of another group.
More disturbing is the recent strange lag occurrences unrelated to settings not unlike lag ghosting and rubberbanding from the good ole DAoC RvR days. That stuff really messes up good fights and is sort like those warping Dolyaks. >< Beating on something or chasing after something only to find out it is not really there is always frustrating.
Happens to me a lot, definitely a lot. About 2/3 during prime.
To avoid this, if I don’t take fall damage when I know I should have, I wait two seconds and then blink further out. Dont take any fall damage at all that way.
This bug doesn’t happen reliably enough to be an exploit, so I wouldn’t try it as one. :p

It happens I see me falling from a cliff =>no damage , then I see myslef falling AGAIN and damage.
It happens I fall and reappear 5 meterfrom where I should land.
It happens I saw myself falling from a cliff 5 times in a row, I thought it will never stop.
And the best, I fall from not high cliff and instant died.
Great Anet I dont know what you did but it’s scaring to jump from anything atm…
I counted 20 jumps off a cliff once – plenty of time for the enemy to catch up

It’s pretty irritating when you are in a hurry, trying to run as fast as possible to defend something only to get stuck in a falling loop. The weird thing about jumping down to the western camp Arah/Gods/idkwhatever, it doesn’t even seem to matter how high you jump, the loop is there, waiting for you.

It’s kind of gamebreaking when you’re not quite sure if a jump will damage you or not, jump, take no damage, think you’re fine, do another jump and then the damage suddenly applies mid-air and you fall dead on the ground.

Yeah… learned this the hard way with my Necro.
Most annoying thing is when you do more jumps in a row with another class and drop dead only because the damage hits you in one big blast at the end.^^
i love it. i tripped out my guild mates when i got up and brushed myself off after a looooong fall

Yeup I’ve experienced this on a low tier server where we have next to no lag.
I get this when doing jumping puzzles. Sometimes I randomly fall to where I just came from. It’s very disturbing and really puts me out of my jumping rhythm. It is particularly noticable in the borderlands JP where you fall through the hole.
