Far Shiverpeaks hacker in WvW - 15/05/2015
For the millionth time, you cannot post account names on this forum without your thread being removed. Edit the name out.
Since the video has the account name as well, you’re best-served sending that to exploits@arena.net. It’s pretty blatant, so it should get looked into rather quickly.

I don’t read this forum very much, so i didn’t know about the account names.
I already edited my post, but I can’t do anything with the video atm.
Anyway, I will follow your advice.
Regards.

Nine more threads about this guy and maybe you’ll see some action?
I am fairly sure that blatantly obvious hackers is an exception to the naming and shaming rule. They are supposed to be named and shamed. That rule is meant to avoid “OMG this player is a kitten, look how stupid he fought against me lol!” etc. But yes, mailing the exploit address is the best thing to do.
I do wonder what the purpose of a hacking upscaled warrior that barely does anything is though.

Unfortunately, and as seen in the dozen or so threads that were deleted or edited and locked where the now-infamous thief hacker was named, they delete them. No questions asked, because those are the forum rules, no exceptions. It was only thanks to a video sent to exploits@ that Michael was able to to track down and ban the guy.
Scum hacker, hope he is banned for live.

For the millionth time….
Shouldn’t there be an employee actually looking at all the stuff sent to exploits@arena.net even a part time, like 1-2 days a week, in order for any of that to actually have any effects ?

For the millionth time. There is.
The problem is troll reports and false reports. In the last 5 days there was a thread about hacking. They posted video. The poster was as dumb as a bag of hammers. One was a engineer using super speed + rocket boots and the other was a Mesmer using blink. The poster was claiming them as hackers. mentioned having reported them, then made naming and shaming post.
You have 72+ servers. to look through, with tones of uninformed players reporting folks for hacking for using regular skills. As well you have troll reports.

Yea, i remember that guy. I think he was on Kodash before on a PU mesmer. Reported him months ago, and now that trash moved to my server. So lame!

Look at how big a deal it was when one single hacker was banned. Players were gushing all over the dev as if everyone got a free precurser.
That tells you how rare it is.
And what’s worse is that knowing hackers are all over the place leads to more false reports, which makes it even harder to sift through reports for actual hackers (assuming they do that).
TLDR: Anet’s lack of enforcement on hackers makes it even harder to catch them.
