You might as well go and say other small groups like AD/NEWL and so on are non-factors as well. Makes me sad that “members of the large alliance” on my server don’t know much about the game. I guess that’s what happens though when a guild/alliance mass invites people to form a zerg – you’re bound to get people that aren’t very good or don’t understand the multiple layers of WvW.

And by your logic, everyone also must know you’re a non-factor as well – seeing as how loud you are on the forums and how insignificant you are (doing fight clubs 2 nights in a row) in game.

Small gank groups and solos as a general rule contribute very little to the overall goal of WvW. Several smaller coordinated groups working together can be very effective and destructive. Breaking up a fight club cause you had someone telling you where it was, Not getting involved in said fight clubs(Cause you are all just so good), targeting the back ends of zergs for easy kills cause your good at hitting the same target(Golf Clap) Smashing solos.

OS can always count on our 5 man being useless to OS. After all we don’t want to be used anyways. We will always be up for helping guilds and individuals we respect. But that is earned by character and skill, not the size of a “large alliance” on our server.

Alright guys, I give, when I was first approached by paxa and told I was a carebear after asking them kindly not to break up a fight club with Kaening, I was clearly disrespecting them first.

My bad, all hail the 5 people that do nothing for this server and claim they are skillful enough to fight more than afk bystanders.

FINALLY NSP takes hills on their own borderlands back … gonna learn to defend this time?

nm already lost it again and been repelled a couple more times. Whoever the OS commander is thanks for the badges at lowlands and again in hills lords room, they were delicious

So forgive me for asking, but where am I supposed to hone my individual skills? I recently leveled and geared a Mesmer to 80, and now I’ve been working very hard, trying to get better before Friday night reset, but I’m running into a few problems.

I tried practicing in sPvP, however, the fact that I couldn’t individually pick what armor to use, and the fact that the terrain wasnt remotely similar to common locations in the WvW maps, made me realize that it isn’t the most effective way to practice.

So I turned to ganking people in the jumping puzzles. The led to me being called many horrible names from both my friends and enemies. Enemies would invite me to their party, only to shout “kitten YOU” and leave. Friendlies (whom I just ported to the top of the puzzle so that they could loot their daily chest called me names like scumbag, vulture, and worst of all, traitor. Why was I called a traitor? Well it only happened a few times recently, but over the course of this week, I’ve been teaming up with someone from one server, so that we could both gank the other. People were especially mad when I once refused to attack a thief from the TWIN guild of AR, because I knew that she would be able to beat me in a straight up fight.

Deciding that I’d rather not be called names, I began hosting fight clubs so that i could fight other likeminded players who wanted to get better at pvp. Often in random, secluded places on the map, that players would not nomally go near because of how disconnected they were from any objectives. Most of the time it went well, however recently I’ve had to deal with PAXA. And while I appreciate what they do for the server, I do not appreciate the constant rudeness that they show towards me. They go out of their way to break up said fight clubs, and then proceed to gloat about them.

I understand that PAXA is not completely at fault, as there has been mudslinging and name calling from both Os and PAXA, but surely you guys can find something more productive to do? Fight clubs, while they don’t contribute to point gain, are an easy way to hone individual skills in proper WvW gear. And I would appreciate it, if you guys wouldn’t come out of nowhere and break them up, just because you happened to be bored. In fact, I encourage you to join in on the fun!

PS: NSP you are welcome for wiping BP at your garrison too.

Fight clubs are a great way to figure out how to fight that “one class” or that “one build” or just learn the ropes on your toon. While it might not be tr00 pvp, it is a great way to hone your skills. I appreciate the Fight Clubs you have put together.

Back off of Toble, PAXA. You guys did, indeed, break up fight club on multiple occasions. These were organized as a fun way for people from all 3 servers to test themselves 1v1. The fact that you guys broke it up proves, to me, you don’t hold that much respect towards any of the servers here. Toble has called you guys out because that is what your are currently presenting yourselves as. I personally don’t care how you play, but I do care about server and guild respect.

@Kashijikito: I also support what you said about Fighting Clubs, was going to ask for one at the end of this match-up I and other TWIN really appreciated the FC with nsp and kaineng last time, as it had been already told, it’s a great drama-free (and lag-free) way to get nice fights. I both zerg and roam but still miss the duel option in this game…
Ps: there is no shame about refusing to fight someone that you know is going to beat you over and over… who did not run away from some fights? I don’t see the traitor issue there and it’s only one individual, I’ve yet to hear about a treaty between TWIN and Os lol. (by the way nice fights tonight in the nsp BL)

Yah we had some good back and forths this evening. I was commanding for BP in EB until about 10pm EST. You were able to pull together some good numbers out of no where! I know we had a queue, but it felt like we were constantly outnumbered, and I had to make some advanced maneuvers to take two of your towers as punishment for wandering into our corner…

As far as the whole fight club thing goes, find a more out of the way place to do it if you don’t want people interrupting it. You’re in a PvP zone and you’re fair game. if you spec solely for 1v1 fight club then, yes you have a valid point. If you fight club with your normal wvw build, then fight clubs are a great place to workshop things.

Fight club is the perfect opportunity for that type of fight. Kashijikito, you seem like a nice enough person. Sorry that your fun is in the expense of ours, but as long as we see a fight club we’re going to join it in our own way.

Edit: You can build very similar stats with sPvP gear as your WvW gear as well. Plus you can try different specs/gear out much easier in sPvP as well.

Not entirely true, sPvP sucks because you can’t use food, racial abilities, and many other abilities are nerfed in sPvP, while you get the full effect in WvW. Not only that, but in WvW you can get a much higher bonus to crit damage, and critical hits than you can in sPvP.

If it’s to test your skills 1v1/2v2/whatever and not just test out abilities specific to your WvW use, sPvP is an even playing field that’s suitable for that. Yes, it’s not exactly the same, but it’s similar enough that if you’re worried about people ganking a fight club it’s a viable alternative. And also, who uses racial abilities 1v1 anyway?!

At first I hoped that the OS/PAXA slapping contest be done elsewhere … but I was obviously silly to think that they were not so petty as to rage about each other in the wrong topic on the forums rather than speaking to each other and working out their differences intelligently. @Walabone We were extremely stretched out when I put my tag up, but you guys did have us moving. Hardest part is making it seem like we had more than we actually did. Love AR randoms though, they make commanding much easier as long as the mood stays light. Had to siege up Umber to get things started,why NSP loves that camp so much I will never know. The Danelon and QL defenses and T-Bone in front of AR’s keep, followed by coming in right behind the group hitting DG helped morale a lot, although me saying in /s “Shh, it’s a surprise” while I was right behind the BP group on the bridge to DG probably made a few players question my sanity. I always try to keep the mood friendly and fun when I lead. Now stop trebbing our towers! See you on the battlefield!

Yeah, sure does take a lot of skill to attack us from behind while we are occupied with trying to take a fortified AR tower , i also seem to remember you guys dieing a lot as well then you run away. But you leaving out the minor details is what makes you Pro right? And since you were so willing to defend ARs tower we decided to take your entire borderlands, enjoy!
