I’m hoping that in the next balance/content update they will fix the minimap. It keeps immediately scrolling back to center on your character regardless of where your cursor is. It makes it really impossible to use the minimap to do anything besides look at your immediate vicinity.

Maybe a switch in minimap allowing you to choose between character centered and free look?
Otherwise minimap wont move when you move.

Most annoying thing ever. Just do a rollback on whatever you changed since last patch on the minimap please…

I just wanted to point out that it was fine 2 patches ago.

Something broke it with Wintersday patch.

And i’m beyond annoyed from it.

Never underestimate the ability of Anet to break something totally unrelated to the patch.

I think they did it on PURPOSE. You know to stop people from being able to escape the hammer Zergs and everything…

Yeah they broke the mini map in the last patch.

And on a side note my favourite area of the forum is gone.
You would expect better than that from Anet.

I want to encourage you to head over there and keep the thread on the first page until the bug is fixed, if possible.

i’ve found that if you stop moving, take another step forward, and then come to a complete stop again, the minimap will work right. if you’re moving, or if you’ve stopped after scrolling the minimap, it’ll just keep zooming back to center.

i’m pretty sure there’s a “center on character” button on the side of the minimap. if so, then there’s no reason for it to return to center on its own. if there isn’t, there was, and it should be put back.

It doesn’t even “work” (or bugs, your choice) all the time. So even if they wanted to do it on purpose, they failed at it. No matter how you look at it, there’s a bug.
