Im not sure if its because the guild i am a part of is a smaller guild, but does anyone find the current price of flax fiber ridiculous? 15-18s per and with the cost of 12 per 1 linen sac and usually needed two sacs it can start getting quite costly to make one tactivator. im glad Anet fixed resonating slivers, now please lower the amount per linen supply sack.

I see where you want to go with that, but scribing still is a guild craftsmanship. It’s suposed to be performed by a few players, that are backed by the resources of a guild.

If your guild has trouble to get their hands on them in particular: There is a Spot underneath Jaka Itzel in Verdant Brink that accumulates ~10 flax nodes that can be harvested once per day. You literally only need gliding to get there and I managed to accumulate 12 fibres over the course of a week, just by stopping by there every other day. (Basic Orichalcum Sickle; no boosters)
If you’re still short: Such a spot also exists in Tangled Depths, although is is harder to reach.

Problem solved

The basic problem is that there is an item (flax fiber) needed for a basic WvW component (tactics & improvements), without WvW offering an adequate source to gain that item.
A good solution would have been to add a WvW reward track that is called “War supplies”, where flax fiber, various dust & badges come as guaranteed drops from boxes.

Another reward track could be “War Room funding”, where you can gain materials needed for unlocking stuff in the War Room (like leather, textiles & wood for paper etc.)

WvW has to be self-sustained. Otherwise Flax Fibers are nothing but a gold transfer from WvW to PvE.

You were lucky then. The average would be around 7, when harvesting every day, so about a quarter of what you got (the drop chance is around 10% per node).

So, you need 24 people harvesting that flax farm to get a single tactivator per day. And a single tactivator per day won’t get you far in wvw.
