Yep nothing to see here.

If you frequent WvW you should be accustomed to not having titles, achievement points, or anything meaningful added. However if you live in PvE you get bi-monthly updates with all the achievement points you can swallow, new maps/content, armor/weapons/mini’s, the list goes on.

It seems the motto of “play the way you like to play” only encompasses those that frequent PvE. But I’m sure I’ll get that title, or at least one of my siblings will; possibly my great great great grandson.

And once they make the WvW achievements more attainable, you’ll move on to whining about the lack of especially ‘difficult’ and ‘prestigious’ WvW titles like this one.

Hmmm, well I can’t say that I would “whine” I am just stating an obvious failing of this portion of the GW2 world. However if they can add titles for such things as say, “respected achiever”, what is the problem with adding a respected yakslapper title?

As for the achievements, you could just make it so that instead of getting say 10 achievement points for 50000 kills you could get at least 50 for such a milestone! If it is possible to get this same amount for doing 16/16 easy achievement in PvE, I for one cannot see the harm in upping the rewards.

Although these titles might not be considered as “prestigious” if done in tiers I can see no harm in showing to others what you have achieved thus-far. The same goes for the “milestones” in our achievement points offering a title, even though 5000 ap’s isn’t much I see many many players touting that particular one.

Last time I’m saying this for a good bit. We are going to address this system before the end of the year, ideally, and make it more in line in terms of numbers and rewards as the rest of the achievements in the game.

End of the year…. so sometime in the next 4 months, I guess that is better then soon?

One might question why adding achievements is taking 16 months, I am sure it is a technical limitation of some kind as that is the most common excuse.

We tackle each task as it comes up. Every thing we add or fix has an opportunity cost. In this case, the achievements have not been at the top of the priority list when we have had things like bugs to fix, ability lines to add, and other large projects (what Hugh previewed in the Livestream) to work on. All that being said, we are going to address this because it has become more and more problematic as we continue to add reward systems tied to achievement points and add more and more achievement points through Living World achievements. It would be ideal for us to have an unlimited number of people on the team and to be able to do everything at once. Reality is that we have the resources available to us that we do and we get as much done as we can within those constraints.

Camelot Unchained is a big worry for GW2 wvw but its too far away with a possible date of Dec 2016.

DAoC is too old, the population is only a few hundred and none of my friends play it anymore.

is ESO WvW even in the betas yet? Last I heard it wasn’t. If they can pull off what they’ve been talking about (starving keeps by holding farms and mines and whatnot, having it all in a Cyrodiil sized map so it’s WvW in a WORLD, etc) it could be a serious threat. As for the sub? I spend a sub’s worth most months in the gem shop anyway, no skin off my teeth.

And @ Bailey, ESO has a target of spring 2014, which was already pushed back from spring 2013, so they might actually pull it off.

The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real.

And gw2 as with many other Mmorpgs out there are subscribed as invested time. I get money every month, but the time I sink into a game I can never recover and my time is worth more to me. I hope the devs and others don’t just shrug valid complaints on this board off as “why, there is no subsbription fee, we are playing it for free”. Well, we don’t. if people wouldn’t invest their time in a game, there wouldn’t be one. I hope that’s acknowledged.

Truthfully the lower Priority for WvW attention is driven by no current relative competition in that area. Like everyone has said. DAoC is dated / starved to extinction.

There’s still PVE subs to chase for ANet and obviously that’s the Priority. Heh some may still have a reason to hate on WoW. It’s forcing Anets attention on content that they perceive the need to get in place “Now” and “Prior” to new releases especially since WoW goofed with KFP (Kentucky Fried Panda).

Their Leadership is sure to want to again “Prioritize” stating Subs as #1 and that comes from WoW’s proven PVE hoard of potentially dissatisfied users. And do you think Blizzard will make 3 mistakes in a row?…Diablo III, KFP are two I could arguably name.

Leadership may say it’s too little window with the staff present to give WvW the same love as PVE is my summary despite the staff knowing or well wishing intentions to even things up a bit.

WvW/RvR isn’t a WoW staple at all. How many of us remember WoW coming down kitten early zerging. Sparks of what could be between Tarren Mill and Southshore. That fun lasted all of 2 weeks…

To me that was the best single experience I had in WoW. Now kill one guard or person near one of those towns and 25 guards appear running toward you at 250% speed.

Yes, go on strike to limit Anet’s resources further, getting less work done. Why are people so impatient? Why do people not understand how long it takes, and how expensive it is to create and maintain an MMO. Anet’s doing the best they can. If you can’t wait, take a break and play another game. That’s the genius behind a F2P system. Come back when things get better and stop QQ’ing.

First off, Guild Wars 2 is buy-to-play not free-to-play. That aside, declining to give more money to a company you’re dissatisfied with, in order to encourage them to sell you what you do want, is how capitalism works.

This exactly. Most of us know that an MMO is a big, slow-moving beast. But this year we’ve also received two interesting bits of news, one for PvE, and one for WvW.

PvE: We’re doubling the size of our team! Lot’s of PvE all the time for everybody!

Bailey give him some respect, seriously. Im sick of all the comments on here casually slapping around devon. Out of all the devs I think I see him comment the most. Hes being honest with you guys when he says he can’t put and exact date and thats the responsible thing to do. Would you rather have him lie and then be disappointed with a rushed product??? I can imagine changes to WvW are much harder than pve because of the balancing issues, especially like the changes to a map, or even building a new map. Id expect balancing to take months and testing.
