Fresh to WvW, few questions
1.: The “Official” dueling area is in Obsidian Sanctum, there’s a loooo~ng tunnel at the beginning which ends in an arena-thingy.
On borders south to the south-camp, behind the Windmill is the spot where most “agreed” duels/fights are, as it’s far away from the other players, less chance to get interrupted by them.
2. If you just want to find someone to fight, you can try to “poke” a spawn-camp ( south-west and south-east camps) and see if there’s someone coming for defense, you can try to wander between the south-camp and the southest-ruin, near the Sentry, or maybe between Bay and Garri.
3. I don’t really know a lot about ebg (I think there are duels/fights near SM outer walls, like the south area), but I don’t like it, I’m roaming on borderlands.
But IMO it depends on the matchup, on which tier is it, on which servers are there right now. Some has more roamers, some has almost none, some has a “lot” of duelers, some has almost none.
For me, EBG in higher tier is more about the blobz, and thou you can find roamers, the chance to find the zerg is pretty high compared to (non-prime-time) borderlands, when only one map-jump blob is there
I’m sure someone from the lower tiers will say what’s the roaming-situation there.
I dont know if there are any official dueling spots personally, I mean any isolated quiet spot should do assuming nobody gets involved, maybe try obsidian sanctum.
When roaming, typically you will find enemy players at camps or on the roads to objectives camps/towers/keeps etc. Its random yes, sometimes you wont see anyone, sometimes you will see some consistently, sometimes you will get steamrolled by a zerg. You will want to learn how to watch the world map for white swords, and keep in mind when something was flipped. This way you can see patterns in enemy captures and predict where they go next, some roaming parties just capture camps in a clockwise patern, if they take nw camp, you can safely assume they will be at north camp soon. Also doing this will help you keep track of RI buffs, so you dont have to stop and wait constantly leaving yourself vulnerable.
In terms of the BL’s and EB, it really depends on time and coverage. For EB your server generally stays to its corner and and occasionally attacks Stonemist Castle and enemy objectives, the map is a lot smaller then it appears, because its very cluttered with SMC smack in the middle taking up a lot of space. BL’s are very good for roamers as there is tons of free space. You might find it easier to find fights and stuff to cap on an enemy bl but you might also find a lot more enemies then you might want to encounter, because its their map and they will often defend their stuff.
You will also want to pay attention to enemy patterns during certain timezones, sometimes they will not respond to their stuff being attacked, or take a long time to recap something, usually because their coverage is light. These are the best times to cap and seek small fights without worrying about running into a large zerg.
Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.

1. obsidian sanctum, theres a tunnel that goes north next to the beginning of the jp. you can also find impromptu duels near sm fairly often, though youre likely to get interrupted anywhere that isnt in OS.
2. random. if you want fights, take objectives. it will draw a response everywhere, but it may not be the response youre looking for.
3. eb is usually more populated. highly depends on your server — anything below about t3 = go to eb. above that it doesnt really matter where you go as there are enough people to have a presence in all maps at most/all times. in t4 and below, i could run a full circle around all the camps on an enemy bl without seeing more than 1-2 people, and they would then avoid and backcap, or leave, if i won a duel. in t1 there are enough people that most camps flip almost immediately and i cant take more than about 2-3 without happening across the path of someone in any size group. in t4 and below, i can solo push towers (and even keeps) with minimal response to anything without significant upgrades. in t1, my opportunities to solo push towers are almost nonexistent (for one thing, a few people on my side will notice the x and help). if you make a white x, youll call 1-5 players on the owners team pretty quickly. whats more annoying in t1 is that people will just bait you into chasing until they happen to run in to 5 frands who slaughter you, and its a totally viable strategy because theres actually enough people wandering around for that to work.

2.When roaming alone or with few people are there any places in particular i wanna look around to find small fights or its all pretty random ?
3.For small scale roaming, are there any major differences between EB and server name battleground maps ? In which im more likely to find the small fights im looking for ?
When I roam I typically start in one of the enemy BL. That way, you are really close to camps and the enemy spawn. I find that most encounters are either in camps (keep an eye on the map and try to defend a camp when your world owns it) or in the sentry area in the center of the map, just under the south ruin. Careful when fighting there: zergs sometimes go there, but you should only be worried about bid guild groups, because they will actually take the time to chase you.
In prime time, EB may be a better choice, if you don’t mind the queue time. The problem with EB is that you encounter less roamers usually. When all else fails, pick a slow target in the tail of a zerg. Remember, roaming is like fishing: you never know what you’re gonna get!
One of the best small scale skirmish hot spots is the north camp in BLs. Just keep on eye on the portal and run away if the motherblob arrives :>
