I think reset should stay at 9 est. 10 pm is late for most est players even if it is a friday. RIP the est guilds on reset if this doesn’t get changed.

This is something I personally disagree with, as it’s never too late.

yes, it may be too late to draw old players/guilds back but it’s not too late to bring new players in. I think at this point that’s all we can ask for/expect realistically.

The problem is that you didn’t listen 10 pm eastern is way to late. 50% or more of NA is on the east coast so you have alienated all of them. When you first brought up moving reset people told you that 10 pm was too late. Your reasoning for being so late was to give yourselves time to roll out an update, unless it is a game breaking bug there is absolutely no reason to roll out a fix that late at night. ANET not being able to do their job in a timely manner is no reason to alienate your customers.

One step in the right direction. Now waiting for the Alpine Maps as I don’t want to get lost in the desert alone.

What was the pre-HoT US reset? Just curious, only play on EU ( this will be same time as pre-HoT if I remember my UTC correct).

While I am Happy that reset is on Friday, it’s utterly worthless to a majority of Eastern players, 10pm is too late for most people. 8pm est would have been much better. It would have landed at 5pm Western, not too unfair imo.

That is 9pm-10pm for EST players, can’t you guys make this closer to 7PM or 8PM for EST players? Like many EST WvW players, I log off around 10pm-11pm..

Yeah I will reinforce what I put in the other post if you guys are concerned about a patch being placed at the beginning of WvW, don’t be I would rather have patch at the beginning of reset then having reset being much later in the day.

Also just a note – it would be a lot better if you guys would recognize daily savings time changes instead of making the daily reset time and WvW reset times change. 7PM EST is a great time for daily reset and 8PM EST is a great time for WvW reset year round..

Make WvW Great Again!

As an avid wvw player, I’m very happy to hear about the change. Beginning the matches on Friday will be a huge boon to the game mode and I’m very happy for my fellow players in the western US time zones. I’m sorry I won’t be able to enjoy it.

I am a relatively new wvw commander, and reset is my favorite time to play. For weeks I’ve been looking forward to commanding on Friday nights, maybe even convincing a few old friends to log back in to support me. Unfortunately, I live on the East Coast and between having a young child who wakes up early and a chronic pain condition that is drastically worsened by lack of sleep (if I get less than 8 hours it pretty much feels like my entire body is on fire), I usually go to bed at around 10pm. On reset nights, against my better judgement, I push it to 11-11:30, and regret it the next day. Since reset is often 10-20 minutes after the set time, 10 pm reset would only give me about an hour to play at best.

I’m grateful for the change, I really am, but I wish you weren’t making me chose between missing my favorite part of the game and feeling like my entire body is on fire.

Yes. The old time for reset was 8pm eastern during standard time and 9pm during daylight savings time. It’s currently 9pm standard time, 10pm daylight saving’s time, so an hour later.

Thank you for listening. I wish you had listened more carefully to the many commenters who asked for reset to be changed back to its pre-HoT schedule rather than an hour later (too late for many east coast users to participate). The positive impact of the day change will, unfortunately, be mitigated by this change in timing.

Regrettably, what should have been an easy change with a huge positive impact will be heavily detracted from by the fact that much of the feedback about it being too late has been completely missed.

It is difficult to comprehend why, after managing for over 2 years, it is now impossible to have the reset on Friday, 1 hour after reset, as it used to be. The given explanation of there ‘maybe’ being a patch then makes little sense to be honest. There have been so few patches on a Friday that the impact would be negligible. This is aside from the fact that patching on a Friday, just before you all go home, seems like a terrible idea. Coding is rarely perfect, which means any potentially game breaking bugs caused by the Friday patch have to be suffered over the entire weekend. Not sure about anybody else but to me this seems completely illogical.

On a more positive note, thank you at least for the improved communication. It’s a welcome break from a wall of silence (although a little more warning than less than a week would have been nice)

I don’t know about you, but I actually do recall quite a few Friday updates after reset over the years and a number of complaints – particularly from servers that could experience lengthy queues on reset nights – about them. This really isn’t a situation where everyone can win.

Definitely happy to see Friday resets again though. Should be good fun out there tonight.

The 10PM EST time also means anyone further east (in the UK, for example) that play on an NA server, like Northern Shiverpeaks, is out of luck. That equates to a 2AM Saturday morning reset.

I know you can’t please everyone, but you had a time that people seemed fine with for years. Why switch that?

Please for the love of god. DO NOT TOUCH anything furthing WvW. All you do is kitten it up further and further with every change. No one on the east coast wants to start reset at 10pm est. Is ANET that kittening dense?

WHY IS IT ALWAYS 1 step forward and 5 steps back when you make changes to WvW?

The patch had nothing to do with the change in reset times and connection errors are not unusual right as a patch happens. It’s honestly unhelpful and unpleasant to act like that under the circumstances.
