Guild Wars 2

As a player who has played since pre-release but who didn’t “find” WvW until six weeks before the first WvW season, I find that the “numbers” we are asked to play off-peak times are the times when the other server has their DAYTIME and we are not only overwhelmed, we are destroyed.

We can’t get our keep back except during our “day” (PST 3pm until about 12pm PST).

Thereafter it’s a 20 to 30 man MAP of players in Ft. Aspenwood who, understandably won’t even tag up when this occurs and are frustrated by the sheer lack of competition – it’s a slaughter not a skills game.

After the sixth death trying to get our keep and our own areas back to include our camps, here’s what we keep seeing, the picture speaks for itself – that wasn’t even all of them, half were still at the camp.

Please address this before the next season starts.

Actually FA is poised for an easy Silver League win since they are dropping to rank 7 this week.

You’re new to WvW, so I’ll break it down for you:

WvW is a game of coverage. Servers that have the better coverage win the points game.

This is unfortunate, but do not expect ANET to change anything. While WvW is fun, it seems that they are not looking to make the matchups balanced in any way.

See how Dragonbrand is destroying the competition? Doesn’t seem fair and balanced for those servers, does it?

As of right now FA is trying to stay in Tier 2, to get good fights. We may have lost some rating to Dragonbrand, due to SoR imploding….this could drop us to Silver league…we are trying to stay out of it though…

This guy is either a troll or not from any major wvw guild. As such he does not represent the view of FA’s major wvw guilds.
No one on FA wants to tank to silver and play pvd league. We want to stay where the best fights are, which right now is in tier 2.
The unfortunate reality is that we have no night time presence compared to that of SoS and Mag, as OP says. For that reason alone we are in danger of dropping to tier 3.

Silver league is not an option for FA

Just cause No Trolling said he would like to go down to Silver doesn’t mean all of us wants to be in PVDoor league. My guild has lost notable players and a commander
coz of the Silver PVDooring in Season 1.

Also here is an analogy. “It’s not fun to play in the D-league if your team is an NBA team. Even if it’s the Lakers”

I think Mag and SoS are committed to stomping on DB when they pop up. (I hope it’s next week while there is still juice left to squeeze out of SBI and SoR.)
If they hold their own, then they’ve earned the spot. If they fold like even their own folks are saying, we’ll have you back in no time.

Echoing the sentiment that in no way is FA wanting to drop to silver league and in fact we are trying harder than ever to stay in T2 since the only good thing about WvW is the fights, not the PVD. DB has been leeching rating off of SOR for far too long so currently its an inaccurate picture of the actual ratings imo. During off peak coverage lack the times the OP mentioned, the best advance is to take whatever forces are available and either havoc the borderlands that the massive SOS pug blob isn’t on or siege the kitten out of an objective (sup acs and trebs work wonders) and give the blob the finger.

FA seems in a bit of trouble and is desperately trying to buy anyone or any guild atm. Best hope DB does get into tier 2 this next week as they will get focused hard and lose points. If they stay in tier 3, they will most likely gain another 50 points and to silver goes FA. Hilarious it would be as they have hit up almost all of what’s left of SBI, saying they are paying for everyone to transfer before the March patch and season 2 starts.

If anything you should be trying to grab some of DBs numbers as the more you try to pull from SBI and Sor, the more points you give DB. At least be somewhat intelligent about who you throw your gold at.

Sorry Gravy, no clue what you are talking about. What was that about SBI and SOR? I’d like to know who these SBI and SOR folks are that FA is supposedly buying. It should be no secret that FA’s wvw guilds have been scouting recently for transfers. If there are SBI and/or SOR and/or DB guilds that are interested, I can put them in touch with the right people to talk to. To date there haven’t been any. The SOR guilds went to TC and SOS.

And, BTW, no one expected the gold, silver, bronze tiers again when Season 2 was first announced. The fact that SOR’s implosion is skewing the ratings for multiple servers is extremely bad timing.

I’m not aware of any guilds that have transferred to FA, so I’m not sure the irony you’re enjoying actually exists.

It would be nice to get some SEA/OCX coverage though, as that is where we really fall behind. We regularly have a lead during NA. If we got that we would certainly compete for the top spot in tier 2.

By the league start we may end up back in gold, but it depends on how DB does to retain their score and if FA’s score gets hurt too badly from playing lower ranked servers.

Yeah, tier 2 is all artificially bloated to be too close to t1, and DB is going to get absolutely stomped when they pop into t2, due to the SoR implosion.

Oh, I wonder why?
SBI and SOR are “imploding” servers who barely fight back/lack the people to fight back.
DB is basically farming points.
And they’ve been farming for how many weeks now?

While the ratings may be inaccurate, I doubt FA has enough time to prove it since we are only a couple of weeks away from S2, and the currently projected ratings will shift even more during the week in favor of DB, as their night time presence gains steam whereas FA’s lack of it becomes more apparent.

Their night presence isn’t gaining anything. They’re just stomping on sor and getting free points. They’ll get absolutely crushed next week in t2 and drop back to a more accurate rating.

There are no guarantees that they will be in T2 next week.

This is FA we are talking about. They will drop down to silver for sure and then dominate there.

Calm down friends from FA, unless DB has been sandbagging we’ll bring you back if you drop down next week. No promises if it’s the following week because you’d have to tick +695 for 7 out of every 8 hours to not lose score.

I am currently on SBI, and at Christmas we posted Queues on EBG, and the various Battle grounds. Now we have no Queues on EBG during primetime, and a Queue of 1 or 2 on SBI Boarderland. We have lost a lot our hard core guilds so that is why we having trouble keeping up. SoR is a no show, plus our low numbers allows for the DB zergs to crush us at every turn. I myself will probably transfer off before the prices go up.

SBI has a good commanders, to bad the population has moved on or we would be putting up a better fight.

No one is blaming SBI or SOR as most of us know the difficulties of not having the population to match overwhelming forces. However, we are blaming the way the system is that a lower ranked server can leech enough rating to make the ratings inaccurate.

Yes and I understand that. SoR is actually keeping us at tier 3. They will fall next week and we will follow them down the next few weeks. Yes the system is broken. I do think that SoR should have fallen faster than it has, either MAG or FA will get screwed by DB skewed score, most likely FA.

Blame? Who cares what blame anyone from the top 2 tiers has. You all are trying to stack so hard that it’s crippling the game and feeding into the exact BS you all complain about. Zerg balls, over population and all around just bad game play that forces people to abuse the aoe cap and stack with 70 other bodies to claim superiority. People stack to these servers for the fights.

Most of the hardcore WvW guilds are in the top six servers, and they want to fight each other.

The last time FA was down with you guys we were bored out of our minds. We were facerolling. Even when the numbers were even on both sides in the open field, we were dominating.

I don’t know what you expected. ANET gave us WvW this way, and people just want to have fun.
