So I was talking with some players on the forums and this idea came to play.

Imagine server team ups for lower populated servers! Wvw population wise, 2 medium size servers teamed up vs 3-4 smaller ones. It would be incredibly fun and interesting to participate as the “massive” part of wvw would drastically increase for us low tier servers and encoraging more communication between players in the same team.

I understand higher servers would not be so interested in this for obvious reasons, but it would give more life and excitement throughout the whole week for our “underpopulated servers”

I know it sounds abit silly, but imho it would make the wvw experience a lot more enjoyable.

Dark Isle Of Jarthaven was the term that brough the idea… :P

This would be really kitten fun, tbh. Make it a monthly event- four weeks of server mashups. Forced to ally with the enemy for your own good, and then depending on results, have alliances remain and grow stronger (bountiful world buffs or something) or have them betray each other for new servers.

the reason why top servers are in the top, and bottom servers are in the bottom, is 24/7 coverage. the former have that, the later dont.

so your idea would work during primetime for the low populated servers. the other 18-20 hours of the day the bottom servers, alliance of four or not, would be stomped without mercy due to numbers alone.

whats even worse is that when that happens for a couple days, I suppose that would break their spirit and they would stop showing during their good 4-6 hours aswell

Really? Cause im pretty sure that I know of at least 3 servers (IoJ, HoD, DH) In the lower tiers that have almost 24/7 coverage… The issue is numbers not coverage for all the servers down here. lol By numbers btw I mean that a lot of times servers just cancel each other out instead of actually capping anyhting, everything will just stay the color of the owner and its down to ZvZ fights. Dont post if you dont know anything about the lower tiers please.

Edit: Speaking Strictly NA here, I cant speak for EU since thats where you’re from. That may be the problem there but it isnt here most of the time.

This is a really good idea, but I think we should stick to having 3 side (2v2v2). There is actually a better chance of having a fair match up by teaming up 2 servers this way. Probability of 2 very weak servers both on the same side is lower than probability of picking 1 very weak server.

The Dev’s should have data on the WvW population distribution for each server over the course of a 24 hr period (and over the entire week). Combine 2 or more servers on one side that have 24/7 coverage combined. Put them against a single server with 24/7 coverage and you might have a fun and different contest. The number of servers on each side should not matter. Matching the population peaks and valleys would.

Back when my guild was on ET- we had held SF at bay in our keep for over an hour- to the point of where- it was just so kitten epic, you didn’t care if you lost. Then all of a sudden- fergy came in the back- helped us kill SF, and then, just left.

We were speechless on Ts3 for a moment, then had decided- we wouldn’t attack fergs for the rest of the night. We even took a tower from SF in their third, and let them cap it.

The alliance only last the night and we were back to killing each other the next morning, but it was a moment to remember.

If stuff like that was forced on you- it wouldn’t be nearly as nice. Not to mention servers hold a lot of antagonism towards each other- Just look at how people act in overflows- they don’t care what they say because it’s not their server, they feel no responsibility or respect for fellow players.

Yes, imagine how much bonds players would be making with one another from different server, making the community better for everyone.

And a 2v2v2 sounds really fun too, I’m sure anet has the tools and data to make it happen if enough people like this idea. It would make the wvw experience really enjoyable. To work with guilds you’ve admire from other servers. Even having to share teamspeak with one another to be more organized and effective as a team.
