Am I the only one worries about the future of W3 in regards to the client performance?
I mean, at the moment, many many people are having issues withW3. Whether its super low fps on great systems, or the invisible enemies issue with rendering players, we can agree that W3 is anything but polished.
The question is, will it ever be? Will the client/engine that arenanet ever be able to smoothly handle all these players on screen? Will we have to just “settle” for the status quo?
I think the engine they have chosen is messing them up big time.

There are huge issues. Invisible enemies, and ability delay in very large battles are my top 2. At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, these kinds of issues can make or break a game. The first 1-3 months after launch is when a lot of players will make their first impressions and decide whether or not they want to keep playing. Granted, GW2 isn’t subscription so people can leave and come back as they please, but nobody wants to get ROFLed by invisible warbands even if it is free of charge.
They absolutely have the power to fix / improve this experience, they just need to place a high priority on it and get it done.

That site lists Planetside 2 as a user of their middleware (not to mention at least four other MMOs), so I rather doubt it’s an issue with that. Most likely anet implemented it a certain way for PvE and didn’t adjust that to meet the needs of PvP.
