Hi guys.

I’m not an OCX player, I think it is a good idea if you were to do that with some guilds, pick a low tier server and try to evenly spread out on it. You’ll have issues of course, servers jumping tiers, etc.

But there is one thought that occured to me which none of you brought up yet. Simply put, I wouldn’t transfer now. Wait until after HoT and after A-Net starts working on WvW as they stated they would because no one knows what that will be. The entire server structure / PPT may go bye-bye, you just do not know at this point.

You can go ahead and do the transfers with the $10 alts, but I think vast majority of people do not have these and it would be a shame to waste transfers then be unable to move back leading to either quit WvW or game altogether.

1. You should seriously consider T8. It’s got space and there’s only one way out: keeping the tier together would be significantly easier.
2. Don’t wait for HoT. Who knows when it releases (looks like very late 2015 at the moment)? Also, due to lack of care and effort, Anet generally fails to deliver when it comes to WvW… there’s a good chance the GvG arena will be a fail.

Recruiting wise, T3 might actually be the place to be in the future- before the server lockouts new OCX players would realise pretty quickly that to play wvw (with roaming as the exception) in their timezone they needed to move up the highest tier possible. Now that T1/T2 is mostly perma-locked T3 would probably be it.

Another reason for T8 is that if you go anywhere else and a server below you gets bandwagoned (which happens a lot, particularly around T3, T4, T5), you may have a hard time preventing them from rising up to your tier and bumping one of your servers out.

Also, if you’re thinking of making the move anytime soon (within the next few months):

That day when YB RNGs into a T1 matchup is coming soon (20% chance this past friday already), and when it happens, I suspect a server will implode. As that server falls, it’s going to be hard to keep it from disrupting your tier unless you’re down below T4/T5.

I seriously doubt that if YB does happen to jump into a T1 match that the unlucky T1 server that drops to T2 will suddenly break apart. Since there already seems to be a T1 lovefest between JQ/TC/BG, that will probably lead to a T1 double team of YB. After all, it was former T1 guilds that decided to not join in the “all for one and one for all” attitude that has been NA T1 for almost two years. Since the players on the T1 server that drops can’t jump ship to the new T1 server like what happened with SoR, there is an even greater motivation for them to come together against YB/FA/SoS.

You can also expect a T2 spawn camp push week from the unlucky T1 server that drops down, just to avoid losing precious glicko rating. The same thing happened to T3 when there were four T2 servers.

T3 servers are Very High and risk going to Full status if a large amount of OCX and SEA guilds stack into a single tier and that would be disastrous to what they’re trying to accomplish here. So OCX/SEA is bit stuck between that risk and not having enough players on a lower tier.

[FN] will have 1-2 attending.

Coming into this discussion late, but you might be interested to look at T4 ie. HoD, NSP and EBay. We have some SEA/OCX, but aren’t too heavily stacked. The communities are friendly and casual, not very PPT oriented (if that’s what you’re looking for). Coming from SEA myself, and also on HoD (we have 3 main SEA guilds and 2 OCX), I’ve been here since the betas, love the community, and wouldn’t ever think of moving. At the same time, I’d be glad to answer any questions you might have regarding this tier. Just PM me.

If you’re thinking T4, I’m a SEA player currently in NSP T4. The tier right now is balanced as it is with HoD having a slight advantage in coverage with the occasional big SEA/EU zergs (sometimes blobs) of AIR, TIME, BP. Personally, I would suggest disseminating yourselves more to Ebay and NSP, and a few in HoD if you go here. This tier is the sweet spot for roaming and small skirmishes.

If it gets either too blobby, dead, or imbalanced again I will consider quitting this game.

Don’t worry. According to the secret T1 War Council talks, there’s gonna be more movements in T1 in the near future. Or Anet will open up space when HoT hits. Whichever comes first.

T3 is already Fight/GvG friendly with guilds like EP, Agg and Hymm, you could probably recruit talent from these guilds that play in off-hours but good luck convincing the communities on these servers that it’s a good idea.

So what were the outcomes?

Before trying to create a Fights tier. We will be testing out to see if there is enough fights to go around and see if it is worth creating. The OCX & SEA guilds have decided on a day next week to go into EOTM and have a OCX/SEA fights night. We will organise more nights as we go on if that works well. We will then come together again for another meeting. To discuss how it went and go from there. If you are an OCX/SEA guild that is interested in getting involved in this EOTM fight night. I do hope more SEA guilds would try out this plan.
