Game breaking culling needs fix.
I have not experienced what you describe. Maybe it is hardware-specific?

This is all from there choice of a easy to use engine. They chose this engine because it allowed them to cut corners and save money. Now it seems it will destroy the game.

I post this because I love this game and Im kitten it’s not living up to even basic standards of games made years ago.
It’s definitely not hardware issues. I experienced it last night for the first time, when we tried to grab the orb. We got it about halfway back to the Hills when we got hit bye ET’s zerg. Nothing showed up until our entire group was dead. And i have a brand new computer. I have yet to come across anything that makes it slow down or have any problems. Even with the culling, nothing spikes on it.
I already posted a solution – render enemies as red dots on the map. Just like you render allies as green dots. The slow loading model issue can not be fixed for various reason and ANet knows it, my solution is the only option that at least gives us an idea what lies ahead.
It was never really around in the closed beta periods because there wasnt as many people playing as they are now.
Quite simply the problem of invisible enemies is the fact the server limits the amount of characters it renders at any one time to save some PCs from exploding.
This is good for the 60% who have them mid spec’d gaming computers but a nightmare for us with the high end computers who get mad, until they modify the game client so rendering isn’t such an issue and increase the cap on the amount of characters it can render at any one time there’s nothing we can do about it.

Been having this all day on Desolation and it’s become very annoying. Start a fight thinking it’s roughly equal numbers, and then discover that they have another 2-3 times the guys who haven’t yet loaded. I’m sure this works both ways too (i.e. small enemy groups engaging us only to load a load of players once the fight has begun).
I would much rather have all of the graphics options turned to 0 and everyone in the same armour if it meant the game actually displaying everyone.
Yeah, this just happened again on our server matchup. CD pushed into the lords room, and broke the altar before any loaded up. As i said before, not a computer issue. The orb is now gonna reset, and it was done before any of us could even see them. This needs to be fixed, and quick.
Yah its reaching preposterous levels where i am standing less then 1500range away from a wall and i see projectiles just, magically appear in the middle of the air. I assumed there were players behind those, but their models simply never rendered.
This is an issue with the server and the coding, not with the user or the system. And it should be a pretty kitten high priority to get this fixed, because its sapping the fun out of WvW when enemies are simply not visible to you (but you are visible to them, yah… goodluck).
And people have started abusing the servers ineptitude to deal with this to the point where Mesmers can generate this issue with portals. Making whole armies invisible to their enemies. Totally legit when you just drop dead after seeing a bunch of numbers pop up out of nowhere.
This rendering issue is really annoying, happens to me every time when I encounter huge groups of enemies. They load every time though after like 10-20 seconds.
