I have recently started Wv3 and play on the Gandara EU server and very suprised that Gandara is ranked 17th on the EU server lists. Most of the time when i have logged on we have basically owned most of the maps so i am just a little confused by the rankings.
Yes, i am a W3 Noob but starting to get into it :-)

In higher tiers Gandara didn’t win their match ups which resulted in relegation to your current tier. In Gandara’s current tier the numbers 16, 17 and 18 of the ladder battle each other. Because Gandara ended up at the second place during last weeks match up in their current tier, they are ranked 17 on the EU ladder.

I’m by no means a super active wvw player but Gandara has always bounced between the tier 5 (ranks 13, 14 and 15) and the current tier 6 (ranks 16, 17 and 18) match-ups. We generally do well in the lower tier, thus getting bumped up higher where we have a hard time and are likely to drop down a tier again.

As the millenium site suggests, Gandara is likely to rise up a tier again. However, in the next match-up we’re facing servers I don’t remember playing against during 1 week matches. It will be interesting to see how we fare this time around in tier 5.

Edit: When I wrote this post the predicted matchup was Augury Rock, Far Shiverpeaks and Gandara but looks like it quickly changed to Fort Ranik instead of AR.

Fort Ranik we’ve faced a few times, if Far Shiverpeaks gets relegated to tier 5 that might be a first, I’ve never played against them before.

Gandara was a good WvW server for a while after the release of the game but in time they dropped down and stuck around t4-5-6.Sad to see our old rival in this position.

Well, we on Gandara have learned our lessons and we are climbing back up. What really hurt us was lack of off-peak coverage, especially during the night but thanks to some insomniacs we are making progress. The core of WvW players join every night and fight no matter what the score is and this week we have had a great influx of new players – I hope they will stick around in next matches as well. Last time we faced Fort Ranik we finished last but I think we have improved from that week and this time we will fight until the bitter end.

It will be so strange being the red team, we haven’t been red in over a month…

looks up with bloodshot eyes Insomniacs…. this isn’t Insomnia it’s server pride that kept me up till 4/5am for 4 nights this week!!! It’s Server Pride that commanded me to have a nap in prep for the reset…
