Anyone else have this problem ?
Whenever i try to use Garrison waypoint the game sends me to Citadel waypoint at home borderland :<
Assuming that Garrison was not under attack, and you could not see that on your map, that it wasn’t a misclick, that you didn’t get a message about being diverted…..
… and assuming that was a port on the same map (switching maps it always sends you to “home” port)
obligatory eliminate anything that couldn’t be a bug
Otherwise:
Could be specific to that map.
If you have more info, and can duplicate it, post map, info on bug forum.

source? I see nothing in the patch notes about it….
I found it as a bug and quite annoying tbh, waypoint is a T3 upgrade, it’s not you get it after flip.
Having to load twice to get to a specific waypoint instead of map spawn is a waste of time.
Zerg will move faster? So small groups trying to defend. You work hard to get the 3 wp in home border and in EB keep to improve your mobility.
If a blob can’t succeeded in defend, it will just brute force a structure and cap it back. Small groups could have an hard time.
So I guess this favours numbers over strategy.
yes i will post it to bug forum but i need to know its not something with my client and its actually a wide spread bug.
Happens mostly when i try to WP to home border Garrison from another map and i always end up in citadel not in Garrison.
If you are at homeborder you will not have a problem to TP to Bay, but if you have a 100man Zerg at EB they cant TP direct to Bay, they will first have to move the zerg to homeborder then when 3sec window is tp to bay.
They cant setup WvW for servers with 20 players they have to set it up for the server with big numbers.

This is definitely a bug. I believe it happens when you try to head to WP in bay or hills as well.
Hopefully it is fixed in the next patch.
I suspect that what is happening is, if the waypoint is contested you get redirected to your citadel instead. when you are already on the map, using a waypoint is very fast so if you click quickly you can get in before it goes contested again. but when you’re on another map it takes too long, and by the time you’re ready to load in the waypoint is already contested again and you get redirected.
this happens in PvE also sometimes, when you try to go to a waypoint on another map and you get redirected because your destination became contested at the same time.

Yes this is happening. When I port to a WP in my home map, I often get redirected to a completely different WP. There may not be another enemy on the entire map and this still happens. In my case, it has nothing to do with whether or not the WP becomes contested AFTER I click on it.
This has happened to many people on my server. I’ve not noticed it in the last few days, but my time in WvW has been minimal in comparison to how much I normally play (because LS).
Has anyone checked to see if it ALWAYS happens, or just when it is contest? From my experience the past couple days, it seems like it is always happening now.
If it’s always happening, my guess it is a ninja nerf, and probably one of serveral nerfs coming to hinder zerg map-hopping play. It would definitely make it harder for a big map blob to just port around karma training and then the moment something gets attacked that is upgraded to just have their blob port right into the keep. If this is the case, I hope they don’t revert back, and punish bad defensive play. (I.e. you can’t keep your WPed keep if you keep no sentries, siege or anyone on the map to defend). Heck, this could be a sign that they’re listening to people’s posts saying they don’t want zerg play.

I was entering this morning our home border i clicked to Garrison waypoint and end up in Citadel again.
After this i ran around a bit but whole map was ours than used Garrison WP from ruins and again ended up in Citadel.

Yes, happens to me always too, no matter if it was contested, gets contested or whether there is anyone on the map.
this sounds like a new bug then, possibly introduced in a recent patch.

Its a change when you swap from 1 BL to another you now always get taken to your spawm point for the map not garri, hills or bay. It must have been a ninja change.
Happens to me both in home BL and EB.
Pretty sure I read in some note somewhere with I cant find that they fixed so you can not teleport from map x to map y keep. And if they fixed it without planning to fix it, leave it like this. Much better that you cant move a 100man blob from defending Hills blue map to Red map Bay then Green map Garry directly without having to use citadel Waypoint on every map.

No its a bug, doesnt happen always for everybody but its like this since EOTM launch and im pretty sure i havent read anything in patch notes they changed this a bit, i called in few times for help and its NP for them to port inside, unlike a few times where people end up at citadel using garri WP, whether contested, or not
If its contested you cant tp there, you never been able to tp to a WP with X on it.
I will try to look for for the notes about this for you, but it is not a bug as far as I know, it is intended, and it happens to everyone.
It makes it harder for the map hopping mega blob to all port in to a BL from their current location to a totally different map and wipe the group attacking. It’s still more than possible to port in and defend but it now requires more coordination (which blobs tend to lack) and will naturally break up those mega blobs, at least a little bit. Not perfect, but adds a little strategy, you have to better time moving around the BL’s to port in and defend.

The map hopping prevention is not a bug…
(have to be on map to use map WP other than spawn)
This bug is occurring when you are in WvW itself say EB and you want to travel to a Garrison or Hills or Bay waypoint.. It ignores what you clicked and automatically sticks you in the Citadel… Very.. Very annoying.

Yep. Doesn’t matter if it’s contested or not. If you try to port from one map to a waypoint other than spawn on another (eg hills, garrison, eb keep, smc), it will always send you to spawn. Happened with the eotm patch. Not sure if bug or feature.

Let’s be honest here. It’s most likely a bug (unless documented in the patch notes somewhere), but it won’t be fixed and will be touted as a “feature” soon enough.
At least that seems to be the general trend.

At first I believed this to be a bug… But now I’m starting to think it was a silent ‘feature’.
