Someone already posted this so I don’t take credit for finding this video, recording it or posting it on the forums however I can not find the original post that included this video to give it a bump.
The statement in this video is so incorrect that it hurts every time I hear it. For whatever reason that you are unable to hear the audio in the video what’s said is, “Generally what we see is the more you are into anything, like if you’re into WvW, typically you’re really into PvE”
Sad that they think this is a “general mindset” for players because although it may be true for some players it completely leaves players who play the game only for WvW in the dark.
Wishing someone from Anet could at least acknowledge their WvW only population with a comment that we are being heard or is that asking for too much?
You can deny it all you want but for as long as I’ve been playing, when new pve stuff comes out wvw is a ghost town. Every living story update left only those that actually wvw in wvw and I can say that was maybe 5 people on the server I was on.
More people do pve then they claim. I’m sure anet has numbers and sometimes I wish they would just release the info to show you all that probably 0.000000000000000001% only wvw so you can all stop posting this video over and over again.

Most people don’t claim to “only” do WvW, plenty of “WvW players” however do claim that is what they play the game for, and what they spend most of their time doing, that video just has a very disingenuous answer from the Anet guy, she asked about participation rates, which is not the same thing as players exclusively playing one mode.
If a player plays 10% PvE, 20% PvP and 70% WvW it is fairly clear what is the main aspect of the game they play for, and what they are primarily concerned with, that they do a bit of PvE amongst that, doesn’t change anything.

People wonder why devs don’t post here. This thread is perfect example as to why. Everything they say will be re-posted in a number of threads, made into little meme’s/videos and people will never let what they say go.

we actually had quite a few people playing on our server. Ofcourse when no one wants to play the bls and everyone ends up on one map I guess it ends up being a pretty good sized group.

WvW is in fact an extension of PvE in the sense that any change to PvE has a direct impact on WvW. So in fact you are PvE’ing with the added ability of PK’ing, lol.

Most WvW players do not post these forums, and people also made similar points to what I said when this video has come up before, that a few guys stated “they only play WvW” doesn’t equate to much or change what I said.
