Getting shot in stealth
It is likely to be lag. I had a reflect shield up the other day and was being hit by ranged attacks. Sometimes it looks like we have an ability on but really the game is a bit out of sync with whats going on. Its like when you fall, take no damage and then a little later get hit by it.
Rapid Fire follows stealthed thieves if you start it before they stealth, might’ve been that.
Any attack that is started while you are still visible will finish :P
Auto attack will not follow through Stealth. You may have been shot by an arrow that was already in the air before you used Stealth.
Rapid Fire will track you in Stealth if the Ranger activated the ability before you went into Stealth.

To phrase it better, channelled abilities will track you, because they lock onto you.

Yeah longbow skill 2. I used to run longbow on ranger, but switched. When I did run longbow it was pretty much free thief kills.

Longbow projectiles are the easiest to dodge in the game after guardian scepter, if you were killed by it in stealth then you were running away in a straight line. Stealth is a powerful ability, but it doesn’t mean you get to mindlessly avoid everything.

Pro tip for engineers…. magnet escaping thief and prybar the air in front of you if he stealths during the magnet channel.
Of course this implies magnet working correctly and not rubberbanding the enemy up into the air/back to his initial position/back to his initial position and back to you and back to his initial position etc pp.
Attacking air… ANets idea of fun since release.

Also, Waffler, Rapid fire can’t be evaded by strafing, it locks on to you(although now that I remember, I have never tried strafing vs Rapid fire so I might be totally wrong here).
Strafing won’t work against rapid fire, dodgeroll will as it does with everything (though the rapid fire will ofc stay locked on you and as soon as you stop rolling you’ll get the dmg again)

Nope it follows you and changes angle so that it tracks your location and range while in stealth, I used to use this when going P/P thief with Unload to track enemy thieves who where initiating Hide in Shaodow on low health before switching to Sword/Dagger it can be very useful.
I main thief and i do not have a problem with this, leave it as it is.

You’re invisible, not invulnerable.
Channel attacks hit in stealth if they are activated before you enter stealth.
Little trick for rangers if you have trouble with thieves…
As much as I argue against the constant availability of stealth (to thieves, that is), I’d argue just as much that activating stealth should break and interrupt channeled attacks. :\

I’m a thief and I disagree … we’re supposed to be invisible, not immune to damage. I do think, however, that for consistency the path that channeled projectiles take should disappear when a thief goes into stealth even if they still can hit him.
