Getting to level 14
eotm for 3 hours, find a tag and karma train.
Done.
I know most of those words. Sadly for me they hold no meaning in this configuration.
Please keep in mind I have no WvW experience (other than some aimless wandering around having no f-ing clue what to do or being dragged along by friends, not having the slightest idea what is going on).

Go into Edge of the Mists. Find a big group of people to follow. Do what they’re doing until you hit level 14.

Edge of the Mist:
- click on the WvW button
- look towards the right side
- don’t join the dark side!
- press EotM
- follow the local tag, if far away, wait until he ports closer
- press 1 then repeat it until the enemy is down
- repeat step 4-6 until you’re rank 14
(Optional: Use birthday booster for faster farm.)
Ahh, so Edge of the Mists is similar to Fractals, but for WvW. Then just tag along with a group of people and leech. I can do that. Thanks.
EDIT: @Bubi, kitten, now that is a step by step guide. Just one question: Can I join the dark side if I bring milk (for the cookies)? ;P

Only if you’re a full zerker hammer revenant, ’cos then you have to press #2 instead of #1
EotM is not even close to similair to fractals. If i would compare anything, then it would be chest farm in SilverWaste with ocational hiting one if you run in to a another group of upscaled. Noone of you are there to pvp, but on ocation this happens.
EotM have nothing to do with wvw, since most stuff in EotM is about pve, and if lucky (or unlucky if like you don’t like pvp) you run in to enemies. WvW it is the other way around it is about pvp and if lucky (or in my case unlucky) i run in to pve mobs.
Either way, EotM for some reason give you badges when capturing worms and killing two leg bears, so in your case were you hate pvp and want badges, EotM is the thing.
Going to Edge of the Mists is definitely quicker, but might I suggest going to the Eternal Battleground map?
You can ask in map chat for you servers voice communication information, get on it (it is usually teamspeak, mumble or similar programs) and get involved? Also if it is your first time, don’t go full damage spec or with a PVE build. Put on the training wheels with some soldier’s gear, either have someone tell you a build or google a bit, learn the play style then work in some damage gear. You might find you enjoy the mode.
+1 for teamspeak and soldier’s gear (power vitality toughness stats), it’ll help you survive. Follow some of the commanders. Usually blue tag (“bluedorito”) means a big group of players. It might even become fun! Eternal Battlegrounds is a great map.
Marush Ifri, Noreena Gorun, Arsaname, Desra Ele…
Dont forget to open wvw daily cchests for the e/w xp boost so you hit rank 14 faster. Happy hunting.

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
In fact WvW and EotM don"t feel like PvP (as long as you run with your group).
Enemy groups feel just like NPC-hordes, some more intelligent, some even more stupid, especiallz in EotM
I actually am a full Berserker Revenant (or Herald really). And I’m sorry, but I am not gonna change my build for a one time 3 hour session of WXP farming (tho I’ll be activating every single booster I have and can get my hands on to reduce that).
It might not feel like PvP, but last saturday I was doing the meta events with the Exalted in HoT and suddenly we had to race eachother to determine who could ride the golden Exalted armor or something. that was plenty PvP for me. The only reason I did not quit for the night right then and there is because it only lasted for just under 10 minutes.
I did not mean to imply that EotM plays the same as Fractals, just that you start it in the same way (enter the portal in LA, join a game etc).
EotM sounds the way to go. I’ll just power through it tonight, see how that goes. Thanks all.
All the WvW portals are there with Fractals and PvP. Hitting B is easier because you can enter anywhere in the game and when you come out you return in the same zone. No travel to LA is required.

We’re looking for players.
PM me here or ING.
ehhhh zerker herald is pretty meta. Hang behind the melee players (or arrow carts as it usually ends up!) and spam coalescence of ruin into the midline of the enemy if you do fight others. You can change your traits in wvw/EotM and it won’t affect your traits in pve.
I hate the PvE system. Lets compare how long it takes to get Gift of Battle compared to doing the necessary PvE content. Suck it up camper.

Hi,
I would suggest doing the WvW dailies. Most of them can be done solo. A lot of it, such as “daily camp capturer” are totally pve. You will get chests that give you a Wxp boost, but you should save them when you have a decent allied zerg going. If you have a few XP boosters (the 50% general booster, not the old “from kills” booster), you can skip this entirely.
At this point, the best way to handle this is to wait for “reset night”, which is on Saturday at 1:00 server time. At this point, if you hit “B” the options to enter WvW maps will grey out soon. This is when it’s time to get ready and peroidcally refresh the WvW menu until Edge of the Mists comes up. Usually this is when it’s most populated and you will just follow the zerg with a toon that has lots of AOE and hit whatever. The only things you need to know is how to grab supply (walk up to it and press f), and build siege sites. (walk up to it and build f).
Weekends in general are better for it as well.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I spent about 2.5 hours in WvW last night. I can confirm I will not (willingly) be doing this after I hit rank 14, but I do have to admit it isn’t as bad when just leeching off of a group.
I am now halfway to rank 10 (so about 25k experience gained total, of the 49k I need for rank 14). During this I encountered 2 ‘zergs’ that started around 20-25 people and gradually dropped down to 3-5 people. Basically every other zerg we encountered trampled us (except for 1, which we just barely defeated), so that was fun.
And @Straegen, sure it takes a lot longer to get the PvE content, but that’s okay with me. I play GW for the PvE content, so I’d be doing that anyway.
