Giant Lakes in Borderlands
Yep, the giant lakes are a terrible idea. Less water, more fun.

If you fight at the edge of one, you can roll into the water and get a second heal. I like that, and it has saved me a couple times.

This is what I mean by “wilson.” I do it myself when the opportunity arises, but it is still lame imho.
I used to despise it, but since I am almost exclusively playing my necro again, underwater combat is great. Rangers are annoying to fight underwater, because they just outrun you, and mesmers can be, but as long as you stay on the person and not illusions its ok.
From what I hear, most people hate it though.

You can still keep the lakes, I’m just suggesting to make them smaller.
That lake is big to hinder troop movement since most of you hate underwater fighting… And why the hell are you fighting in an edge of the lake? The only places that have water close is the Bay Keep and the (Color)water Supply Camp.

Because fights typically move around.. The areas to the left and right of the lakes are a good place to cut off reinforcements.
Whenever I find a thief I go to the water because they never have any idea what to do when they can’t just stealth and run.
I think that with water fighting the reason people find it so difficult is because classes change their roles. As an elementalist, I’ve noticed that my role changes from DPS (on land) to crowd control (underwater). I feel this is true with a lot of the other class abilities as well and some people just don’t realize the paradigm shift which is why they find it difficult to adjust to underwater combat.
Edit: Yes, I like the lakes.

They should have made an underwater fort to capture. This will actually force people into the water more. I personally think underwater fighting is quite fun now and again, but as it is there is no incentive to fight underwater at all.

as a ranger, I have always loved underwater fights against other ppl (not much in pve though)
