Yesterday was the day of my Gift of Battle (server: Elona) … Heard alot of unresting stories before about this new reward track and just wanted to KNOW how long it will take me to complete the path (from zero to 100%). Need that d**n GoB for Astralaria and forgot to buy some for my 1000+ badges of honour before the change. =8-| …

To keep it short: it took me almost exactly 6 hrs of non-stop running with the main Elona Zerg on EB and BL. No break (not even for restroom). Luckily, it was quite an entertaining zerg (not only “tshoo-tshoo”, but a good deal of exciting battles!), with an experienced, comfy and relaxed commander. Many thanks <3 <3 <3 for this smooth GoB farm! :-)

Booster: Activated all kinds of buffs and booster and kept them running through the whole trial: the 24h guild buff (10% on WvWvW reward tracks), XP booster (50% gain on WvW reward tracks, amongst others), heroic booster and celebration booster. Dont know if all these booster stack or not, though. Didnt matter, had enough of this stuff dusting in the inventory. 8-)

Ascended weapon chest: besides GoB, I leveled >20 WvW ranks and landed a WupWup Weapon chest from one of the rank chests.

All in all, it was a much less tiring experience than I thought, and an okay way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. (y)

Good luck with something like that on Blacktide, our zerg is 15 players (that’s what i saw in past 3 days).

I’ll just copy and paste my post from the other thread for you:

I complete reward tracks in that time on Darkhaven, which been stuck in last place of last tier ever since the links started (almost 4 months now). You just need to stop thinking that zerging is the only way to get participatiion and go capture some stuff by yourself or with friends.

And please, don’t come with the “I’ll get zerged at every corner” argument. Unless you’re on T1 (which you are not, Aurora Glade + Blacktide are currently 12th and on T4 matchup), there won’t be groups at every corner. And even if you were in T1, it would mean your server do have enough people to zerg.

Just solo cap sentries/camps etc to get participation, You don’t really need a zerg to get it.

Just do the dailies that you can do solo easily (guards, sentries, camps, veteran creatures, boh spending, …) in off-time and you have it within 14 days with 15 min effort a day, i.e less than 4h effort. Ok, that needs some planning ahead and is therefore impossible for most

As long as you find some way to maintain participation, you really don’t need a zerg for most of the time.

You do not really need zerg once you maxed participation. Repairing a wall every now and then or flipping a ruin every few minute on a border is more than enough to keep it going

Gz to the OP; glad you could pull it off close to the theoretical minimum time.

Other ideas for maintaining participation (if repairing isn’t an option):

• Kill veterans scouts and archers at any enemy tower.
• Escort caravans.
• Kill yaks.
• Destroy enemy siege.

yeah.. just get to +195 participation point as fast as possible , consume the +50% and +10% extra track point buff, and then cap a ruin every 5 minutes. reload buff if necessary. you’ll be done in less than 6 hours.
