When is this finally going to be added back into the game in an attainable way without a currency that we haven’t been able to earn for nearly two years?

Did the reward track for the hero’s weapon chest thinking I’ll finally get the torch I’ve always wanted and now I have a crappy rare taking up a slot in my bank…

Perhaps you could consider modifying the WvW Hero Weapon Reward Track to include small quantities of a currency (presently it would need to be the old WvW Tournament Claim Tickets), and once when we accumulated 300 of this currency, we could then use it to transform a Hero Weapon into a Mistforged Hero Weapon. Similarly to how the Dungeon Reward tracks provide their respective dungeon currency, i.e. – the Ascalonian Dungeon Track provides Ascalonian Tears, this could work for the Hero Weapon Reward Track too I’m hoping.

I’m asking this because I’m guessing with WvW in its current state, we’re a loooong way off from having any kind of WvW Tournament (which I agree with NOT doing right now) that would allow us to procure WvW Tournament Claim Tickets.
