Golem Cap Needed?
already a cap, I think its 20. not 100% sure it’s 20 but there is a cap and its right around there. I think it’s just fine the way it is. your server could have wiped the golems before they got to your keep; they are pretty slow even with an army of mesmers porting them.

I don’t think the limit is 20:

You guys (DB) did a 24 golem rush on us a few weeks ago. It is most definitely not 20 cap.
The cap is not 20 or anywhere close to it

that’s why I said it was some where around there, I remember we couldn’t throw any more down.. or we would have. : )
edit: there are definitely more than 24 in the images above lol.

There is a per map cap. It is higher than 20.
I think, if I recall, we capped out around 50 one time.
Now that was a golem rush for the ages.
OK… more of a walk than a rush, but you get the point.

I was always under the impression that it was 60 to cap. This is from way, way back in the day when we were tinkering with siege values to figure out caps, and I remember the number 60 floating around for golems. Of course charging with 60 golems is tantamount to suicide because you have no one left to actually fight.

There could be other limits. Like a cap on how many golems can damage a gate. Or remove the ability for golems to teleport, thereby giving opponents are better chance of killing them before they reach a gate (although placing portals for golems are fun teamwork).

Two guardians make Omegas worthless. Does that count?

those pics were definitely OP.
got a good laugh
From this week’s BGvSoRvDB match. It’s not just golem rushes anymore, but pure golem on golem action. Enjoy!

Could you kindly let us know what the number is, or is it dependent upon other siege?
If you can pull off a golem rush with that many golems and some how not kitten it up…
- Portal chain is pulled off successfully
- all of your golems actually make it into the portals
- none of your golems port backwards
- you didn’t leave any golems at spawn
and
- you didn’t kill a golem throwing it off a cliff
Then you deserve to get whatever target you wanted. I don’t do golem rushes cause they require too much attention span to work.
Alpha golem rushes are cheese but fine, however Omega golem rushes are out of control at the moment. You don’t even really need to bother with portals as they move pretty quickly relative to Alphas (although my Mesmer is most pleased by that part). It’s hilarious just how easily you can plough through a T3 keep with a bunch of Omegas and the abundance of golem blueprints facilitates this craziness. Eventually I imagine most people will be fatigued by Omega Golem rushes but until then, WvW will continue to resemble a much less metallic version of Cybertron.

Wall of Reflection = Omegas shooting themselves.
Feedback = " "
Daggerstorm = " "
Whirling Defense/I-Defender = " "
Shield of Absorption = No missiles contact the game.
Swirling Winds = " "
They are certainly over the top, but if you can coordinate the above, at all, then they are actually far less of a threat than Alphas.

I’m actually yet to be on the receiving end of an Omega golem rush, as they always seem to occur where I am not. But I will certainly give this mass projectile reflection a try when I finally do come up against 10 Omegas. I have however been a part of Omega golem rushes (for shame) and it all just felt a little cheap to be honest.
Take an empty borderland on a low tier server which has no siege and no night crew.
Bingo.
Max cap is 100
Just remember you get a cap if you throw down too many around one area, even after those have been built and walked off.

So your version of tough, and thus deserving a reward, is a bunch of folks walking together and properly using portals? Clearly the skill bar in this game is too high.
Golems should be limited to 5 per map in my opinion. Personally I think they should be removed from the game as their very point is to avoid a fight. I disagree that the point of anything in WvW should be about avoiding a fight.
There’s also a temperature cap on the new CPUs designed by anet to avoid overheating,
if temp > 370000000000000°
CPU = shutdown

Limit so only 5Golem can damage one Gate/Wall so if you make 20 then you have to divide them to attack different spots and you will not go through a Fortify wall in less then 20sec.
Anything more than 20 is: overkill, waste of supply, and poorly planned if actually needed.
I could make an argument for 10 actually….
Having said that I have been party to 40-50 golem raids….When successful its fun and a good time for the server….When unsuccessful it is a huge drain on supply if not done correctly.
Personally, I would totally be fine with a 20golem cap limit per map. I hate Siege Wars 2 enough already…..
I would like a Golem cap. I would wear it backwards whilst driving my Golly.
