Grabbing bags is annoying in wvw
WTB Super Adventure Box style walk on a bag to pick up its contents system, or to alleviate the risk of suddenly becoming encumbered, have those contents ‘collect’ in a lower-right-hand-corner sort of click to open chest for later retrieval.

I use to hate the loot system, but I’ve learned to love it. I love rolling with my guild and wasting TC or KN’s 50+ zerg and then turning around and retracing your path to pick up the ridiculous number of loot bags. It’s a like a walk down memory lane but I’m getting paid for it.
p.s you can hit ctrl on your computer to highlight the bags.
Last words – “I’m going to jump off this cliff
and pull all those guys down cuz they’ll die.”
I do miss quite a lot of bags and would definitely like to see the auto loot actually autoloot … Still having to pick up the bags manually isnt autolooting.
It can be rather annoying but I’ve learned to deal with it. However… if I see a chest on the ground instead of a loot bag watch out because I’m on a mission.

And then after fighting through half the zerg and almost getting spiked, you pick up the chest only to realize you just got trolled by a dolyak.
I don’t mind having bags and whatnot, but please re-implement GW1’s “unretrieved loot” system. I understand that it would be taxing to remember all the loot on the ground, but it would be soooo much nicer.
Actually, scratch that, I don’t understand, because I’m still requesting it…

I agree. I don’t like having to hammer the F key in the middle of a battle just to make sure I get my loot.
Yes I know bags drop at your feet but most of the time you are moving around the map pushing back or being pushed by zerg waves. It’s fine when you are on a keep wall picking off the attackers but the system isn’t very good when you are out fighting.
I just wish we were credited Badges directly to our account, and bags were just for loot like coin and items, Then I wouldn’t pick them up anymore.
It’s not like your actually getting anything worthwhile in the bags lol.oh noes I missed the bag that had junk in it :O

You only get the loot if you’re quick and/or you survive the fight. It adds realism.
Sometimes I find myself lying dead surrounded by loot bags – makes me laugh every time.
(If you’re REALLY quick you can WP and run back for them, maybe…)
You’re certainly not the first. Most players gave up on it, ANet never answered more than something vague, like ’we’ll see’.
Apperently, it is not that easy for them to do. Not sure why, but a good solution would be something like auto-opening the bags when your inventory is not full and leave the bags on the ground when it is.
Another alternative would be that badges were a currency like silver and that the silver & badges from bags are looted automatically and the bags stay on the ground. Then, at least, you got your silver & badges (each is worth 1s too for siege).

Having a magical floating sack appear at your feet when you slay an enemy (only sometimes) adds “realism” for you?
The fact that SAB has automatically obtained loot proves that they have the ability to give us this option. They just don’t want to for some reason.
Loot bags are sux. You must constantly pushing ctrl and F. In zerg you manytimes start finishing or ress someone what stop you.
It so frustrating.

Ya, I like it for this reason. Also there’s satisfaction to be had in claiming your hard won talons and barbs yourself
i don’t mind it at all. it’s quite funD
often goign after a group of enemies, especially when they start to legit retreat and you’re cleaning them off, i leave the bags 1) to focus ont he running invaders and 2) so i can back track and pick them up! like followign the yellow brick roadD
though in more cases than one, i did that only to be chased by another servers group lol. sad times XDDDD

Having a magical floating sack appear at your feet when you slay an enemy (only sometimes) adds “realism” for you?
lol! – It’s as real as anything else in a virtual world. The idea is you’re looting the corpse of the slain enemy (or he dropped his purse- whatever).
You can ignore them if they bother you. Usually there’s not much in them anyway. But sometimes it’s a worthwhile pickup.
An automatic reward system would be just sterile. Ka-ching! a random amount of cash, ka-ching another random amount… kitten boring and then ppl would start to demand a fixed sum for each ‘kill’.
Not only is it annoying it adds huge amounts of lag and unnecessary load times to huge fights and I would even go so far as to say if anet ever wanted to reduce skill lag they will have to implement a system as to where the bags are either removed and items put into your inventory or remove them all together.
The main reason people find the current system fun / funny seems to be that they don’t care about missing a bag or two. If there was something they cared about in bags, like if badges could now buy ascendeds, they wouldn’t like the system either.
To the victors go the spoils.
Drop the bags into our email already!
No need to worry about handling full bags. Nothing to be displayed in WvW. No QQing about that pre-cursor you saw sticking out of the wooden chest while your dead corpse slowly rotted right next to it.
And while we are at it, can you just get rid of the junk loot, aka spikes, and give us the coin directly? Purddy please?
It’s not that auto-loot isn’t easy to implement…every game ever has managed to do it? They’ve even managed to do it selectively when they wished (like auto-loot only in PvP where retrieving bags really breaks immersion and flow)…
It’s concern about making life easy for loot farmers and “the economy” (which is especially important in a free to play game) that keeps auto-loot out..let’s be honest.
I always have to laugh at people willing to line up claiming they like the current system, no matter how bad it is… like or not is kind of irrelevant…does having to run back to pick up bags after every fight more fun and better for the game than continuing to the next fight or target? Not at all, from the player point of view…

I hate how I am running and they appear behind me. They seem to appear late, sometimes way after the kill and it means I have to keep stopping and going back.
I demand that the anet peeps personally come to my house and place the loot bags onto my front door step. WITH a lovely thank you note. AND a bow or ribbon or something.
That’s all I ask. It’s not a huge request, but there it is.
The absolute worst is laying there dead with a bag sparkling just within reach, if only I could move my arm…
Speaking of laying there dead next to sparkling bags, check this video out, it’s pretty funny. At the end, this engineer(not me) dropped what’s called a big ol" bomb.

Half the time I can’t even physically see the loot bags or chest on the ground. I think I miss most of the loot I get in WvW. I second having a real “auto” loot for at least this type of game play.
The fact that SAB has automatically obtained loot proves that they have the ability to give us this option. They just don’t want to for some reason.
Just because SAB just got it, doesn’t mean it won’t be expanded to other areas in the future. Its obviously a new tech for the game since its never been used previously in GW2, so a partial role out into one single inconsequential area to test it would make sense.
Will it make it to other areas? I don’t know, and frankly, neither do you. Its one thing to add tech to an entirely new part of the game, its a whole other thing to add new tech to existing code.
Bags should go straight into your inventory, for you to open later (at your leisure).
Can’t be that hard to code in, and will stop the annoyance of either being dead next to a pile of bags, having to stand in one spot while bags spawn after you used some aoe’s on a pile of people as otherwise they spawn behind you , especially when your running on boosted speed/there are 3 zergs/ etc etc.
Of course, as it’s not a pve issue, the chances of anything being done about it or the devs even taking a blind bit of notice is zero.

A. its not an easy thing to do, or they would have done it already.
B. devs have commented on it before.

All sarcasm aside its a matter of prioritizing whats important and loot from deaths is not very high on the list when it comes to certain events 3 way zergs in sm for instance where I’ve seen what appears to be hundreds of sparkles yet no bag, unable to even pick them up due to skill lag then 2 -3 minutes later I get overloaded with dozens of them that I thought I wasn’t looting.
The load wvw puts on anets servers in these huge battles with all the siege damage and the players dealing taking damage shouldn’t be encumbered by such a trivial event such as a rng role on what a players drops upon their death much less rolled up in a pretty little bag and dropped where someone was standing when the roll determined your contribution to that persons demise then search you out to pay you your share.
AoE loot please

A. it is an easy thing to do, they just haven’t bothered. there is no reason for you to assume ‘or they would have done it already’ , they obviously either don’t want to don’t want to spend resources on doing it when they can spend resources on people to design yet another instalment of Jump Puzzle 2
and B. the devs have commented on lots of things to do with wvw, but never do anything concrete – so until they do, a dev commenting on something is about as much use as a ice cream in Antartica.
It’s not a case of ‘not bothered’. It’s designed that way.
Some people like it, others don’t – you can’t please everyone.
I don’t think you can stack the bags in inventory, because they draw from different loot tables, based on the level of player you kill. Ever noticed how you end up with T1 or T2 mats in your inventory…? Yea, thank the dude with the green arrow.
Just drop the bags into our email.

nope…
To achieve that sense of realism, you would have to looot the CORPSE!
Not some bag that spawns miles away from the dead body at your feet.
It’s not realism, it’s a poor attempt to make a compromise between the two. And it fails at that.
You want your realism? You should get the option to loot each corpse as in pve.
No more loot for ranged classes, that’s settled than.

Agreed. We need to figure out how we want to handle this, however, so I can’t say when we’ll do something about it or what the nature of the solution will be.

Put a mini pet in the store that sells for 2k gems. This mini pet picks up all your bags automagically. You would have a gold mine with this.

How about a “locker” each WvW players rents and you can purchase additional space with reward points or gems or something. And the loot just goes to the “locker”?

Yeah, what the hell is up with that? Wooden chest shows up and all I get is either a slab of red meat or some hooves. I thought ANet said they fixed this.

Jokes aside, the good news is they are working on it.
Not sure what that will give, or when… but it’s as good as it can in terms okittennowledging the problem.

I agree with the OP. If not for the badges I wouldn’t even loot the bags half the time. I certainly wouldn’t dive head first into a zerg when I have the outnumber buff simply to loot the bag and die!
Make the badges currency that are awarded on kills like karma and wxp. Or just up the karma rewards in WvW and remove badges entirely.
My loot button is just F, not control F. But during the zerg vs zerg and you lose, not being able to pick up 20 bags is horrible. Or being dead beside the sole bag (with the pre-cursor in it!) is sad. On the other hand, people coming back to get their bags, only to get farmed, is also good.
