That’s a culling issue which Anet is working on.
No one is plain out abusing mesmer portals just to abuse the culling issue.
They are using it as a tactic to move groups fast, destroy siege, defend, fake retreats, ect… It has numerous uses.

Don’t clear your keep, your gonna have a bad time.
It’s a valid tactic, and once the culling issues get resolved there really isn’t anything you can complain about. If your team can’t kill one or two mesmers than you really think you deserve to keep that keep?

What if you lose your keep because 20 people stacked in one place instead of just 1 Mesmer? You have the same exact chance of noticing them.
From your perspective, both scenarios would be 100% the same. It would take the exact same amount of effort to locate those 20.
Arguing that it’s too much work to find one Mesmer is essentially arguing that it’s too much work to find 20 people standing in one place, that even making portals work outside of keeps wouldn’t prevent.

What Alarox said, but also; this isn’t Alliance Battles from GeeDubs the First. These are epicly long, multi-map spanning battles. When you spend ten to twenty minutes trying to take a keep, is it really that big of a deal for three people to scan it for mesmers? I honestly think it ADDS to the gameplay. It’s not just about roaming zergs and facerolling objectives; there’s an element of subterfuge and cunning involved.
Besides, we should all be super happy that mesmers are flourishing instead of being the last kid picked for the team like in the old days.

I think a good solution, all told, would be to make mesmer portal exits visible and destructible. This would make them invaluable if placed cleverly, but an easily destroyed sitting duck target if you just plop it down on top of the wall that your team more or less suicided its way onto for the express purpose of placing that portal.
I hope they wont limit Mesmer portals to not go trough walls. else this skill will just be less useful than any speedboost skill. i also wish they made other teleport skills go trough walls except those who don’t require a target such as Lightning flash. 5 professions have teleport skills so this would balance mesmer portals in its current state.
Let me get this straight. You’re demanding a nerf to a skill because it tickles a bug in the engine code even though anet have already said they’re working on a fix for the engine code?
