Guard Dolyak exp, yes i know you turned it off
Yeah I completely agree, very few people bother guarding dolyaks anymore because most of the random people in wvwvw ( not in guild groups) have the common sense to realise that keeps etc need the supplies brought through to them, put simply people don’t see the reward themselves the only reward is it the team
I agree with this.
While I understand the need for disabling the reward given and I’m sure a fix is in the making, this is becoming a problem in WvW.
Supply lines, and protecting them, is a huge deal in WvW.
The reward will make sure enough incentive is given to the players to guard and escort doylak caravans.
Nope people will just sit way back in their own territory and farm them again…
There should be a reward it should just diminish if you farm them for say more then 5 times in a certain time period or something like that.

If we’re being honest, that’s not a terrible thing. With organized guild groups making tactical strikes and less action-oriented PUGs guarding the supply lines, it could create a good balance in the roles people play in WvW.
Besides, while guarding the ’yaks there really is little other reward of any sorts except what you get from the few NPCs that spawn on each route. If the issue is that it was too rewarding… just lower it based on the length of the route and the reward/time you feel appropriate, right?
turn the reward off if the destination location is full of supply.
any maybe spreading people around on the map might help the Lagzilla
my mates are still willing to guard the dolyak even theres no exp.. So the exp off thingy is not a problem.. is the attitude of the server.

Remove mobs attacking dolyaks and have a system with the dolyaks where you repel the attack like for keeps and as long as youve killed someone you get the reward for the event?
In all honesty.. i’d guard a Dolyak if they where not so easy to kill. Even a very small group can bomb a dolyak in the midst of a much larger group actively trying to defend it. Even with guards its a joke to bomb them.
If people want to win they will guard them. Just like when your commander tells you to run supply to repair a gate and you do it… you are not doing it for “OMG 1337” rewards you are doing it because if you dont you will lose that base.
For crystal desert server- at least If the exp was there, it would promote an increase in population for us. Farmed/exploited or not.
Double the cost of siege equipment
Triple the health of dolyak
Make the reward for dolyak only honor badges honor badges, since the armor gear is expensive as hell.
if they only gave reward when the yak destination actually needs supplies, then the situation would resolve itself.
also they could diminish the reward if more than 10 people are guarding it, because that’s just silly.

The reward you get is a bulk of suply’s much needed to upgrade your keeps, if you only bother for exp/karma then your realy bad.
The top servers builds 3 balista’s 3 arrow charts if not more to keep suply camps + suply routes gaurded, efven in enemy territory.
Bad servers who dont even bother taking suply’s and assist the people who bought sieges want that exp/karma back so then can walk dolyaks 24/7 for easy ride.
Think about that for a moment.
the reward is the supply.
if you believe you should get exp for getting supplies to a destination that helps you win, then you don’t belong in WvW. we are there to win, no to grind exp. go back to PvE if you wish to grind exp, we don’t need you clogging queues

i agree that the reward is supplying the destination, but is it wrong to reward karma for things when it is warranted?
the idea is to discourage karma farming in wvw, but not to remove rewards entirely. wvw isn’t just for level 80’s in full exotic gear.

This is the one thing I agree with. Currently, my server is basically letting the other 2 send HUGE roaming parties (we’re so insanely outnumbered, its ridiculous) and any time they see a yak on the map, they send a roaming party out to slay it and sack our supply. Myself, my guildies, even the commanders on my server have tried to get people to start protection supply more, but there’s zero incentive whatsoever for people to do so. Apparently not being able to upgrade a keep passed reinforced walls for the entire week isn’t a good enough reason?
I think rewards need to be returned to dolyak running, but make them so minuscule that only the people who can’t do anything on the frontlines (low levels, and newbies to WvW) have an option that can actually help out their characters AND their team.
I’d be happy with a badge or karma reward. Not sure how much good that would be to the bot-farmers, but I’d love it.
A chance of siege blueprints would be great, too.
