Guardian WvW roaming.
Zerker meditation is pretty popular for roaming. Sometimes I roam with my zerg build for the giggles as I’m too bunkerish for non-zerker roamers.

They can be built to be good in small scale fights (the medi guardian is a great example), but lack a consistent escape mechanism. If a fight starts to turn against them, they go down with the ship so to speak. This means any time more players show up the guardian better have a door close by.
IMO guardians are great in a zerg and fantastic in skirmish/havoc. They are generally fodder in roaming since most fights are not balanced.

If you learn to use a guardians mobility well, you can learn to get away from some fights. The basic GS/S+F meditation build can pack 1 leap and 2 teleports for good distancing. But the teleports requires targets, that can be hard to find in a hurry.
Back before they completely nerfed the Norn racial elites, Snow Leopard was a fantastic escape solution for my Norn Guardian, and I still weep for its loss.
I’ve been solo roaming and 2 man roaming a lot with Healway build (pretty tanky), and it works, but takes a while. And the bonus is that several typical builds designed to take out roamers have trouble penetrating a decently played bunker.
I’d guess that Warrior, Thief, Ranger and Mesmer are probably the most popular roaming professions ? Dagger/Dagger Elementalists seems to enjoy it as well.

I roam on my guard quite often. Due to the nature of T1, full zerk isn’t really viable, so I go zerk/soldier with Hoelbrak runes, which still allows me to 2/3 hit glassy mesmers, rangers and thieves, if I get my hits in (due to latency, it’s a 50/50 chance that I actually hit them, yay Australian internet). It’s very much like Necromancer roaming. High damage, no escapes. You either win, or die. There’s no running away.

I need to get a guardian ready for wvw. I have a lvl 80 with exotic gear but only know greatsword.
GS + S/F, traveler/pack runes, blinds, blocks, and invuln when combined and used appropriately provide amazing mobility and disengage.

That build does not provide adequate CC. You will not be able to lock someone down long enough to get your burst in. Only those who weren’t ready or aware of your build will die to it, or else it’s pretty easy to just sidestep that focus 5 burst or the spin to win from GS. I’ve been using GS/Hammer to lock people down long enough to actually damage them, and it’s been working a LOT better
