Guardian and Warrior are my two main professions, heck, they are the only professions I play at the moment. Can’t seem to tear away from those professions. I’m having a hard time figuring out which one is more viable in wvw. Any vets out there care to give some feedback on these two professions in WvW and which one is better for WvW ? Or do you feel they are basically equal ?
For current patch, of coz warrior. I have both Warrior & Guardian too. In zerg fight, my warrior is as tough as my bunker guardian but has more damage output and control/anti-control ability. For roaming, guardian has nothing to do but warrior is in an at-least-won’t-lose situation. For team support, guardian maybe a little bit better but warrior not bad either. Also never forget the diversity of warrior playing in WvW, you will see all kinds of warrior playing styles but for guardian there are only a couple viable builds . Overall, warrior is better than guardian now.

Guardian has nothing to do in roaming? That’s a bit harsh. Ever been hit by an exploding focus shield from a zerker guardian? That hurts a lot. The 1h sword and the scepter will make many roamers rage as well.
For the initial question I prefer playing a guardian but I don’t think warrior is bad at all. Pick whichever you prefer. If you like green numbers go for the guardian if you like big red numbers go for the warrior.

The way I see it, all comes down to group composition.
In a group of 5. 2 warriors and 3 guardians = smexy
in a group of 5 1 warrior and 4 guardians = smexy
Ina group of 5 1 guardian and 4 warriors = meh
The more Guardians you have, the better the whole group works. The more warriors you have past maybe 2, the group starts to become less effective then other options. 1 around 10-20% warriors seems to be a perfect match. using the warrior as the lead in a charge or as the commander or ghetto commander is the best use of them.
So in a zerg. Both are wanted and loved. In keep defense I think Warrior is liked better overall because of the banner res. In open field small scale fights, guardian is more wanted.

Stat increase = gear grind.
Gear grind = no money from me ever again.
It’s a synergetic relationship as Guardians provide CC, warriors provide the stuns; Guardians provide the boons, warriors remove the conditions.
I will say that a team of pure warriors is more viable than a team of pure guardians; but a zerg without guardians is nothing more than a bag delivery service to the other side.
Both are viable and both are powerful in their own way. The guardian is typically more support oriented and the warrior more front line fighter. Depends on what you like to play.
