Guardian vs Warrior for leading a zerg
Guardians are generally considered the better choice. They can control/buff and heal considerably better than a Warrior.
It doesnt really matter what class you use though. Your commanding style is what will keep people coming back to you. One of the commanders on my server is a Thief that’s as immortal as a Guardian :/
Y , we have a D/D Elementalist commander I’ve never seen downed.
Necromancer the whole way. The combination of Plague and Death Shroud makes for some really good survivaibility AND utility at the tip of the spear.

Guardian has more “oh kitten!” skills to stay alive and get out of a dangerous situation. As a commander you job isn’t to dps, buff, heal, or anything other than staying alive so your group knows where to move and drop damage.

Your CO qualities have little to do with your class.
I’d still vote for Guardian however as they have more support abilities that may need to be timed properly. I.e. you can AoE Stability just when you need it.
I have both, but I generally prefer my warrior commanding. Healing signet is a nice heal, and endure pain is almost as good as renewed focus really. Add on 32k+ HP and an OP hammer and you have yourself a nice commander class. Yes I understand the guardians heals/condition removal/blah blah but the warrior is where its at.

Also someone who has both with tags i find its all situational. With warr with the way it is atm its great but i’d only pick that when i’m leading either a pug zerg or don’t have enough dmg in the team comp.
On the otherhand, guard more useful and dynamic with a guild group, empower regroups, blast heals, dropping your own rings knowing that your team will be right on top of you and being able to drop your own #3 #5 #4 on staff.
I say both. I love seeing our commanders with hammer flying into the group of enemy’s with that jump aoe hammer skill.

guardians warrior are made to lead they got support buffs for the zerg elementalist doesn’t have that face it.
that ele may stay alive very well we got some too in sfr that I have yet to see die but they cannot support they cannon co ordinate the hammer stun.
As a commander you need two things:
1) Tons of defense and survivability
2) Movement speed
For this reason, I’d go warrior. Warrior is way faster than guardian, it’s not even close in the movement speed department.
Remember, a dead commander is a useless commander. While support skills for your allies as well as CC for the enemy are both extremely important, you don’t need them as a commander because you cannot afford to take away from your own defense or your movement speed. Both professions would be very good for removing conditions, armor, and self heals (team heals are important but not for the commander). Remember, you need a selfish build! The reason why you need tons of defense for YOURSELF is because if you go down, you can’t command the train to follow you or set up siege. If you have to waypoint after a death, then much of your team will likely waypoint, even if it would have been better for them to stay. You need movement speed to go from area to area quick and be able to get the siege up in time. Also, if one of your towers/keeps is getting hit by a zerg and you need to save it, warrior has much better speed and will be able to get to the circle quicker if the lord goes down whereas guardian has poop speed. Warrior has good defense too (just like guardian) because it can have double endure pain (utility + trait) as well as the shield skill that blocks incoming attacks and a warbanner you can equip to ressurect the champion lord if you are rushing back to hold the circle.
I’m not trying to say that guardian is bad for commander, I’m just saying warrior is better. Guardian would likely be the second best commanding profession.
OP, I would go with a warrior for the battle standard best rez skill there is and can change a battle on a whim. plus they’re getting a huge support buff in the next pach.
