I know a lot of people have talked about it, and obviously not a HUGE issue as most guilds run the target, but to utilize the target system better for single target pulls etc, it’d be nice to have possibly an upgrade in guilds to allow for guild command tags that ONLY guild mates can see. I feel like it wouldn’t be the biggest challenge to do this, but I could be wrong? Thoughts?
Or just have the commander tag BE your guild logo in some way (for some logos this may not work, i honestly havent looked at the logo customization menu in over a year…)

The entire point of this idea which has been suggested for over a year and never acted upon by Anet is to have it private (ie hidden, only visible to the guild). Not display what guild run where on the map. Granted, different icons for different types of raid (ie guild, dolly, ruin, pug, etc) would be an excellented addition and allow tactical separation of the zergs but you know… If Anet are incapable of modifying the commander system to allow the simplest of tickboxes that’s just not going to happen. Ever. They want us to random zerg in one big blob. Why, I have no idea.
Been saying this for a while(hey Ahmrill, you still campaigning? lol).
Anet wants us to zerg, so get back to it! Chop chop!
They should just implement a new Commander Tag that allows commanders to choose color of their tag. That way we can just pick the color we want and our server will come to recognize tag color.
That couldn’t be that hard to implement!
Well the guild tag can work the same as target, it doesn’t even have to be seen on the map. That would be nice, but we running single targets and trying to stick with driver is hard for a lot of players.
I definitely would love some kind of guild cmdr tag, as would most of us. I really liked Bad Element’s idea of making the tag your guild logo. Makes sense.
That said, it’s probably not an easy change to make. Having to manage how you get on in the first place, how you enable/disable it, making it only visible to reppers, etc, just means there’s a lot of details to it.
I don’t think it’s a HUGE task, but I think it’s still more complicated than people initially think, and there are just a lot of competing priorities at the moment. I definitely think we’ll see something like this eventually.
Maybe an easier solution is for users to apply a guild target to a guilded player and it’s all personal, just like ctrl-t can be (if you’re not in a party). You “ctrl-g” or something, and that target is your guild logo, and you’d have to be able to see it on the mini map. That way everyone sets their own, and it’s minimap visible. Everyone wins. (EDIT: Sounds like Shunt just suggested almost the same thing. /me learns to read.)

Gah! Another thread for Ahmrill to go off in. Yeah he is still campaigning for a private pin option of some sort but it has been pretty frustrated lately. His latest goal is to see how quickly he can get us kicked out of the EotM beta testing by harping on commander pin fixes the whole time. o.O
