Well, that soundly defies the law of gravity. :-P

Not if the counter-weight is really heavy compared to the projectile. Otherwise I blame it on magic

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutronium sounds plausible. :V
I vote magic, the guild Asura enchanted these trebuchets before being fired out of it for weighing as much as a duck, therefore being a witch.

Here’s a treb related question for anyone who might have an answer:
We fought a treb battle last night against a group that “seemed” to be able to fire their treb at about twice the normal rate.
I’ve been WvWing daily for 8 months and never seen anything like it.
I definitely didn’t imagine it as others were commenting on it too.
Do guild trebs fire faster?
Is there any other way of making a treb fire that fast?
I’m 99% sure it was only one treb (not two built on top of each other).
Just very curious that’s all.
Thanks

If their treb was higher than yours, they needed to channel the “fire” skill shorter to shoot at the same range as yours treb, which means they had faster shoot rate.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Yes – there was a height difference:
Inner Bay south supply hut roof vs Bay south gate top of wall – but we’ve fought that sort of fight many times and I don’t think it is enough to account for the speed difference.
Thanks for the idea though – I might even set up a couple of trebs later just to test it and make sure.
