Many of us know that the Guild Halls created an aspect where guild members could go and joke around in their own instance. Your guild hall is what you make of it. However, after capturing our guild hall I noticed several Guild Upgrades that we had earned before the expansion that were not automatically included.
1. +5 supply on claimed camps. It’s one of the last upgrades to WvW war room.
2. Claiming period. Why does this even need to be earned? But if that was a simple unlock then all the pre-expansion bonuses should have been unlocked at the same time.
3. The stat bonuses and other enhancements from claiming. We spent “Influence” on them. If you’re going to make us spend favor and materials on them I want the “influence” my guild spent earning them pre-expansion back so I can purchase more Favor in the new system. My guild was and is small and every point we spent was hard to earn pre-expansion. We had all the WvW guild enhancements unlocked pre-expansion.
On a side note: Guild Catas are only bling now. You ruined the tactical advantage of making them by upping the supply cost to superior cata level. Pointless to even make them.
Short version: ANet removed all existing and earned WvW guild capabilities and replaced them with a giant PvE grind-wall.
I think the claiming needs to be earned because of troll guilds claiming keeps with nothing however it still does not address the issue of a guild with no skills claiming and there be no way to remove the claim
They basically took away everything we had already paid for before and then made players pay more money just to force WvW players to PVE when they would rather just quit instead. For many WvW players it just feels like paying more money for less enjoyment than they had before. Guilds should be able to do the equivalent buffs they could before without being forced into PVE. Expansions/ updates should give the players more, not take away what they already paid for.
I think the claiming needs to be earned because of troll guilds claiming keeps with nothing however it still does not address the issue of a guild with no skills claiming and there be no way to remove the claim
No, they should not need claiming to be earned, however, if the guild claiming a camp, tower or Keep has no buffs or less running, then a guild with more buffs running should be able to take the claim over them. Just allowing for guilds to reclaim over others to highest amount of buffs would solve the problem.

Not just a grind-wall, but a pay-wall: HoT is required if you ever want those WvW upgrades that you used to have pre-HoT.

Yep what happened to not discarding what players had earned prior to HOT (I think Mike O’Brien said that)?
Yes.. and the GUILD bank in wvw being gone = guildies have to leave wvw to get needed siege and food from Guild bank and get stuck in Q and not get to play all night due to taking away something else we had before that we had taken from us. We go through so much siege/ food sometimes we do not know how much we will use on a run, or commanders forget to grab it since we never had to worry about leaving to grab it before.

I think it only related to the Guild Vault Transport Upgrade if it was already un-locked by a Little League Guild.

In the case of other upgrades that are moving to the new system relatively unchanged, such as the guild banners and the guild vault, we’ll be grandfathering access to those upgrades for any guild that unlocked them in the current system. If your guild had obtained the necessary research level and prerequisites to have consumables like banners or Vault Transport unlocked under the current system, you will have them unlocked to craft in the new system.

Nope it is now a heroics vendor.
Guild bank access is still there on the bl through guild registrar. Not sure about ebg though

So he didn’t say anything wrong, he said they’re unlocked to craft, which is how you make them now.

i would pick yours over what we have currently but i am saying that was likely the idea behind making claiming something you earn.

i would pick yours over what we have currently but i am saying that was likely the idea behind making claiming something you earn.
These are actually not bad ideas. What we’ve seen so far is that the number of guilds who have keep claiming is currently low enough that they’re generally pretty good about working together to get things done and get buffs where they are needed, when they work. It also does help that the any guild can slot upgrades into an objective, regardless of who claimed it.
