Guilds Invited to test new things
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
Main thing is that they don’t invite GvG guilds or blob guilds that use rucksacks.

if they do that we are doomed.. will be a deathmatch boring game mode of skill spamming :P sorta like current wvw fights but without objectives. would probably be an arena map the size of EBG since guild arenas can’t fit 2 blobs in them..

For the record CCCP is NOT about hardcore PPT. WE have always been about locking a server down and making Fites Guildz have to come and deal with us. The score controls the tier and we maintain it but, at the end of the day, it’s just about controlling the enemies guilds. If you don’t come and deal with us, you lose all your stuff, if/when you do, expect a bad Raid Time experience. It’s Havoc and manipulation and we love it.
I like cccp, they are always around for fights but it is hard for the other two servers to compete because combined we cannot muster the same coverage as one mag swag server.
C -woe-T will rise again to end this abomination, lol

Actually the worse thing they can do is invite only a handful of people / guilds to test these new theories out. What makes them think everyone out in WvW plays the same way? All that will do actually is tilt the data and feedback to a biased few.
If the publisher and designers don’t have any vision for WvW last week then it is already a lost cause.
Think about it. WvW has been out since launch. Few minor changes, few major. Lot of knee jerk reactions. Edge of Mist map was supposed to be the sandbox to test new things. We get new borderland maps. Never fully tested them or implemented them across all servers before HoT launched. 3 game modes and abilities get changed for each or nerfed for 2.
Basically a lot of the issues and bugs we have seen is because they don’t have a basic test server open to the players before they are introduced to production. Plain and simple. Furthermore, they don’t use Edge of Mist as the sandbox/testbed that they intended.
If they wanted it to be viable format of play, it would be worked on with every release and/or patch and progression would happen. It isn’t. Still don’t have any form of searchable, player portal, with weekly and monthly statistics by class, guild, player name, ranked 1 through N for any form of friendly competition.
Yeah, it is dead Jim.

If I had to guess here, it’s because they are testing backend things, and not the mechanics of actual WvW. My gut feeling has always been that they are changing things to be mega-server-y, and not changing how we actually play wvw itself. It wouldn’t matter if you had PvE players testing that, since it’s not a fundamental mechanic change. I mean, maybe this whole post is a crock of quaggan waste, which may also be the case

Okay, here’s my question then to you / Anet….
Why aren’t the invited guilds names on a sticky as per previous policy with Raids ?
Just sayin’ the whole ghost facade / smoke and mirrors routine is pretty appalling.
And you thought they are serious about this. KeK.
If true, I would hope the people who are helping with these tests are WvW players.
You don’t need to be in a WvW guild to be good at WvW, or have a clue about why it’s not functioning very well.
A lot of PvE guilds are actually PvX guilds with a long history within the guild wars community. I happen to be in one such guild [KT] that’s over 12 years old with strong ties to the community. We have a lot of members, some of whom WvW quite often, and even represent other guilds while doing it.
You’re throwing accusations and labeling a guild based on a rumor, and as someone in a PvE guild who’s an avid WvW player with plenty of members who WvW as well, I think you’re putting too much merit into the idea that ArenaNet doesn’t think these things over when they invite a guild.
