Guild Wars 2

WvW is probably the only thing I enjoy doing in GW2. I do other things every now and then, but WvW is the the sole reason I play this game as I know it is for many other people. It is guild wars after all, this is where we fight other guilds.

You don’t need to have been around for very long to notice the decline in WvW activity. I remember all the fights we had back from season one and up until a couple months from now. So many guilds have quit in such a short time span, and there are no new guilds to replace them.

I really love guild wars and would love for it to last many years, but if we look at the ratio of dying guilds vs new ones it doesn’t seem like that is going to happen.

We can of course all blame Anet for putting all their resources into PvE and living story, but I think we’ve done that a lot already and gotten nothing out of it.

So what can we do?

If you worked at Anet, what would you bring to the table tomorrow morning to address the issue?

Transfer to some server with good community and few guilds or to T1 server and join some non hardcore wvw guild.
THere are still plenty of guilds. For example, on RoF there are at least 4 guilds that like to play PPT but dont care if we are loosing. These guilds play for fun.

i don’t think leaving your server to go to t1 is a sustainable solution to the problem at hand. especially when you’re already on a t2 server.

that said, i’d probably prefer roaming around an empty map than blobbing in t1

Change is not easy. The WvW game is constantly changing. It is not the same it was two years ago. It is not the same it was even one year ago. If you want to continue to derive enjoyment from it, you have to be willing to let go of expectations built from past experience and change with the game.

Really, i’m in Anvil Rock server, T3… in the bottom of everything. I see that here we are few ppl, but with strong server identity and lot of fun…

You dont have big zergs so you have to play smart, you can defend tower and keep defence successfully and in these last weeks matchs with ET and Ebay are well balanced (yep ET vs AR vs Ebay its a classic).

So I can say these last weeks I had lot of fun, playng with smart ppl (friends and enemies sure).

I cant say anything against wvwvw system atm.

i remembered when they introduced season 1 , there was a surge in numbers.

what was the reason? achievements to attract all the pve?

WvW is what you make out of it, its not just a place for hardcore guilds; remember the need for more casual players, pugs who we once were and the roamers.

The problem is WvW itself lacks the changes weve been asking for especially in the CDIs, as well as the problems with population imbalance and PPT – you need players to properly invest into wvw not just for the Seasons, there is just not enough reasons for stable populations overall.
