waiting for an interesting week. Loved the fights against [KISS] last week. This will get a great fight! Waiting for all that great siege actions we saw of Pike and Gunnar.

Interesting group Piken have in the lake on Piken borderlands (probably bots) just farming Kraits. I guess it keeps those Garrison Quaggans red.

The Bots always switch to the dominating server. Just do everyone a favor and kill them from time to time.

This week will be a very fun week. Only just found out that we’re facing off against some old friends that I have the greatest respect for.

Had a fun fight at reset. Really good laugh against the Piken on their BL.

Ultimately you managed to take your whole border but what a massive long drawn out fight of tug-o-war on that west side of the map. Unfortunately the Germans didnt really turn up there (or ran off else where quickly) so you were completely focused on us, but I think that is why it was so good.

I really look forward to our battles over the week and thanks for the chats to the few enemy I spoke to whilst I was the last remaining person in the zone after your takeover

p.s. Look forward to seeing the scores in the morning, though i expect the germans will do the same as last week and do an early morning takeover

That was one hell of a awsome fight you Piken gave us at AM borderland when we just took the Hills. Had a superb and hard time holding you off.

That fight was a mistake from us. You just took the keep and we should have waited a bit for the zerg to move out. We got greedy after capping everything else and we lost 1 keep and 2 towers because of that wipe. Golem rush is effective to take objective with no time for the defenders to react. When defenders are already there it’s hard to succeed.

But yes it was good all night. It seems that we will be fighting each other next week too. Unless we dominate next couple of days but i don’t see it happening. Both servers are hitting us hard, which is a good thing because first place hasn’t locked yet. It’s doable.

And Gunnar’s thanks for not running when we hit you. AM on the other hand retreat most of the times although they have bigger groups than us. A couple of AM guilds seem to know what they’re doing. The majority of the zerg look like they never played an open pvp game. There is work to be done from AM commanders to make things happen.

Things are surprisingly balanced score-wise, especially if Gunnar’s Hold dominates tonight, as they seem to be.

It seems like Abaddon has caps a lot early during the day (Germans probably have earlier shifts) before the international servers come on and start pushing back. Night time tends to be dominated by either Gunnar or Piken.

While I understand this move, it is the main reason why German servers won’t be able to compete and probably never really were. We just cover one timezone due to language barriers, while all other servers cover quite some more. Either Arenanet starts to see this and makes adjustments or we, the German players, have to transfer to international servers.

my clan played on BWE2 on server Dasha [DE]. There practically all communicate in German. So you’re right.

To get back on topic! Very nice fighting so far this week! Every side has their style and so far I’ve not noticed much complaining about any of it. Let’s keep it an exciting and close match-up!

My lowbie Thief had fun with groups of Gunnar Ranger bots in Centaur part of the borderlands.

this is the first experience of playing on the european servers for our guild (Insane Empire [INS]). Our clan 5 years old, but before that we played only on russian servers. I really dont know much rnglish (like most russians, including the members of my clan), yet see no problem playing on an international server. On Vabbi we communicated in english in map | team chats, it would wish.

Had a great laugh tonight playing from about 17:00 to 00:30.

Started on AM. Tried to sneak hills with 2 golems but Boon and the rest (30+) caught us at the lord room. Knew I should have made 3 golems but couldnt be bothered to wait. Was a good attempt given only 10 of us and we were spawn camped and outmanned.

Went to Piken where we had the ability to spread out. Some really fun fights there for awhile and held the bottom section of the map from a constantly Piken onslaught. The seige on bay lasted for ages but for some reason you went to our supply camp just as we breached the inner and thus lost it whilst we held you up there.
Of course, 4-5trebs made short work of our bay walls but some great fights, and you recalled BOON to come help cap it. That was my call to move LoE back to AM.

3 golems, quick movement to hills, and we captured the keep inside a couple minutes… and yet BOON managed to get back on the map, and back inside the keep. Luckily in what must have been the funniest fight had all matchup, your portal into lord room was predicted and spotted. A single balista done a bit of damage to your guys and a full on Bennie Hill moment started as BOON and co chased us around the outside of the room as we slowly wittled their numbers down. Bloody great fun, we even had the music going in our TS as it went on. lol.

After that managed to take all the south as BOON appeared to leave again. Was a seige on Bay whilst LoE defended hills from the germans. Wiped germans. Germans then went to Bay and wiped the people trying to capture that. We let AM drop the the doors and go in and we followed them through. Did not expect them to kill lord so quick but i guess there was no Piken left, so i charged into lord room and stopped the capture on the final tick. Got downed but rallied as my guild and the rest of zerg then came in and dropped people. Was very very lucky to get it there but was funny.

Once again AM hit hills, so LoE ran over and defended there again then took the north east supply camp. By this time we hear AM on bay again and outter down. Start way back however having got inside outter part of the keep it flipped. We held at north outter but ended up about 40 AM vs 20 GH. 10minute battle and our lines were being broken so I done what any good mesmer does … ran bravely away. Attempts to hide didnt work. AM were everywhere. In the end a group of 30 chased me around the keep for over 5minutes. Portals went up left right and centre, when i thought i lost them someone else would spot me and it began again. Eventually the 2nd mesmer in the keep managed to port 20 people in and I ditched the enemy onto them.

With battle raging on the battlement it seemed a stalemate. GH trapped with no where to go. AM standing their ground with bigger numbers but more spread. Finally I arrived and stuck a portal behind their lines and ran to our ball of people. Most ported behind them and broke their line completely and decimated it.
Finally we managed to take the keep back again and spread throughout the rest of the map.

But even though the rest of the takes were pretty uneventful, those 2 fights will stick in my memory as some the funniest and most fun moments of the game so far

Thanks everyone for the good fights, even if I troll some people that spawn camp with messages just for a laugh (i love some the reactions i get of the campers, it makes staying in zone worth while. heh)… anyways yes no matter what, this has been one the best matchups played in so far.

p.s. Sorry about the LoE portal suicide squad on your 5 or 6 catapults at Bay on piken. Just had to do it even though I knew it would lead to the treb building at garrison

We (russians) also started at AB, only for 2-3 hours up to you =). 30 minutes later the Germans was only one Keep and one tower. Long and hard we tryed to take the Garrison, but AB did not gave up. Then we are left AB for BOONs and went to Eternal BG, where helped keep SM and grab Durius and Bravost.

I read the reports from the field, almost all reports about golems. For me grabbing with other siege weapons is more interesting.

OMG this was hysterical indeed, as you said we left AM BL which we had pinned down to nip out for 15 mins to help AFTL and other recap Bay, fully expecting AM to take stuff back :/ By time we got back we’d lost 3 towers and Hill keep to both AM and GH and had outmanned buff! I guss Piken had pretty much left the map as it had been quiet the previous 2 hours or so.

Only option we felt we had was to go straight for hills ASAP and try speed cap it and try hold the three keeps for a while and as we got inner door down we could see ppl about and were ok messmer in and everyone run clock wise round the top until we kill everyone then aoe below…

Seemed to go to plan untilI stopped and looked behind us and found a load of you behind us we must have both been running round clockwise chasing each other would have made a funny fraps tbh.

We normally call our raid at 11pm UK time so just called the raid after that one and finish on a high note, was a fun night.

And yeah you were so close to gettign hill, saw the white swords and just thought lets patrol through there and see,, we got lucky, even 10 seconds later and you would have got it.

Katie, dont forget that quite a few of us rp types are quite committed to WvW. I hate dungeons and love my server and i know i`m not the only one.

There are a good few roleplayers out there who enjoy the idea of being social and coordinating their tactics. Often the success of Piken Square is good communication and thats what we do best.

This also applies to our unguilded fighters, militia, pugs or whatever one choose to call them. There are a lot of piken players who may not be part of a dedicated WvW guild but they organise well and often i have seen them hold their ground when someone with a commander badge has fled like a coward.

The Piken community is strong for many reasons and the presence of WvW guilds is only part of the story of our success.

Totally agree with you its the RP community that has made Piken the great server we like to be on. People listen and talk to each other in a civil manner etc and it has a proper server community and also building long term friendships and alliances and this has helped in WvW a lot everyone feels like they are fighting for the server be it a unguilded pug or the GM of a big WvW guild.

We get approached every second day to move server to the new "in server " to be number 1 WvW server and a main reasons we don’t now is why would we leave all our friends and good allies?

Piken has went from T8 / T9 to T6 going onto T5 at this rate with no influx of players or spamming forums for guilds to come play off peak to boost us. In the last month I have only really seen one big WvW guild leave and a couple of Russian guilds come in a day or two ago, so 100 out and 100 in kind of thing.

The server has really came together this past month be it RP pugs having an adventure and toughing it out in WvW or the big WvW guilds working closely. We might never get past T6 and drop back to T9 but we will have fun with our friends and community doing it <3

On behalf of TUP may i just thank all opponents mostly gunnars this evening past, a few abba too. For the numerous fights where we, althou completely outmanned never out gunned. Your spirit is strong, i’ll give you that. Stubborn as mules too! Cheers for the never ending (felt like) action tonight.

Is it me or are there tons of Gunnar’s Hold bots?
I’m just enjoying picking off naked rangers who autoattack cannons on keeps and towers and completely ignore me as well as the attempt to not die with Downed Skill 2.
Maybe I enjoy it too much.

There are a ton of bots and I would encourage you to kill them after you’ve reported them, but ANet doesn’t like it when we point out how many bots there are and what to do with them.

Loved you’re 20man Death squad this morning Piken (Around 4am) you chased me around for a bit as I solo capped supply camps only to never see me even tho sometimes I was stood right in front of you /wave.

At around 7am some Gunnar’s logged on (6 players) & we started to take our borderland back, PvD on Sunny, Crag & Garrison (Boring as hell) then we went to Hills & one Piken Necro turned up to defend, sorry to say although he tried he couldn’t stop us & we couldn’t stop the 40+ man AM zerg that followed us in.

We have +76pts in our T6 now, good game last night. When we came to Piken, the score was +50pts

Big respect to the member of piken Square ! U are in the wrong bracket !
This week i saw good organized piken guilds in every borderland…. Hard to fight ….

Just like to say thanks to Piken and AB for some awesome fun fights this week, Had awesome fun, always great to know that when our zerg meets piken zerg there is gonna be a field of dead bodies and you aint sure if they going to be yours or the enemys :]

This has been one of the most enjoyable matchups so far. Piken, best of luck to you in the higher brackets, though I hope we’ll get some more facesmashing time against you in the future, this has been alot of fun.

AM, you guys are alot of fun to play against, had some great fights against you as well. Wir lieben euch

Our server (Piken) organisation is still in its infancy. Before thinking about T5, we still need to win another week in T6, let alone this week. If AM and GH focus us next week its entirely possible that we will not progress. However I doubt many Piken would care if we stayed T6, the fights are constant and a lot of fun.

Yeah, you need to devote more time to organize fights. I still can not understand in what borderlands BOON are fighting. Every day new map =)

We aren’t allocated a map, we just decide at 7pm which map to go for, normally the one with the most to take back and no ques.

We are used to coming on at 6-7pm and only having 100-150 pts and the maps being totally under the other servers control, so coming on and seeing map either fully or half undercontrol is confusing us!

I will get Ave to find you tonight and have a chat so there is no confusion in future

Insanesu, there is organization between the guilds, most of the commanded are regulary speaking with each other i.e. at most of the times we know which guild is in which zone so we can reinforce or ask for help.

Yeh been some good fighting this week. Just wish I’d been able to get online for more of it! Things have really come together for Piken Square this week, we’ve surprised ourselves as much as anyone!

Looks like we’ll have second week in this match up which we certainly won’t complain about.

Dont think Ive heard many angry words today on Gunnars, had some fun fights, The Germans have been closing in on us all day, going to call it a night now and while we are still ahead I fear we wont be for much longer.

The final day is going to be tense for GH and AB players. Nice to watch as a 3rd party. Anyone betting?

While I just join EB to puzzle, I had a lot of great fights on all borderlands today. I also have to say that I really DON’T appreaciate that Piken is now (2:00 CET) still dominating. Normally it would be ‘Gunnar-Time’ already.

I really enjoyed it to say during the last battle: “Oh it’s 23:00 CET.. time to cap the Piken’s keeps” xD No such thing now

I’m really looking forward to next week… let’s see if AM and GH focus Piken a bit more or if we go on kicking each others kitten ^^ … this server-restart we surely won’t be that easy on you both!

It was a good night, the back and forth pushing on the bridge at Langor was some of the best action you can get. I guess AM’s lines just broke before ours, your attempted flank in Danelon backfired. But yeah, AM did manage a nice rush on SM earlier in the day… luckily we got it back 10-15 mins later

I’ll second that this has been a great week, and good for the Piken server, too.

Briefly visited EB last night. Had some good fights, the highlight being defending Rogue supply camp vs a greater number of Pikens. I was pretty sure we were going to get smeared but at the end we were still standing and the enemy wasn’t.

I’ve taken a peek at the scores in the mornings and it really shows when a server has a nightshift vs a server that doesn’t. Both Piken ankittenend to have a lot of property overnight while we have very little.

Some good fights with Pikens, nothing memorable yet from AM. We tend to see AM just leapfrogging around (even at prime time) capping stuff where there’s no defenders but not sticking around for a fight. I accept this is not a complete view as I only have my own personal experience, my friends, their friends, some casual aquaintances, our alliance, some associated alliances and my pet Beagle. (Though I have no idea how he sneaked on to play since he doesn’t even have a login ID, let alone opposable thumbs but he didn’t have anything good to say).

Last night we took a tower from AM and about 20 AM arrived just as we were getting to the lord. We braced for incoming while furiously DPS’ing the lord as fast as possible but none of the AM entered their own tower at all while we downed the lord. There were about 7 of us and by all rights we should have been completely steamrolled.

It was much closer in points at the start of the week but my understanding is that Piken got an influx of Russians? So thats the nightshift sorted and it really shows in the points score as Piken rapidly rocketed ahead of us (I am not downplaying the quality of fights at prime time, its just an observation that the difference in scores accelerated).

At time of typing we are neck and neck with AM but I really don’t rate anything I’ve come across there yet because its more gamesmanship than fighting skill that I’ve seen so far. There were better fights the first week with AM, so I don’t know what has changed this week.

Regardless of how it turns out, and despite some of the negative comments I’ve made above, its been good fun fighting both servers this week.

Moved to this server 3 weeks ago, and the last 2 of those weeks have been the most fun I’ve had yet playing this game. every day I get home from work and look at the map, we are normally losing, but never wiped off. There is always a fight and its always awesome. whether its getting on EB and joining the 50th raid(failing raid I might add) on Stonemist only to get beat back by piken from the lords room, or going into the jumping puzzle and finding a few sneaky AM guys sitting with siege above the arena, or switching to the borderlands, blinking, and seeing AM or Piken borderlands get completely flipped green by our organised guilds.

Props to both Enemy Worlds, and thanks for the fights

Well actually, Russian time is GMT + so they usually go to bed earlier than the more western Europeans and so actually contribute less during the night, they are more of a morning shift.
We have no dedicated “night shift” we just have a group of dedicated players and guilds such as TNTD/GG (I know there are more but these are the first that came to mind) who have been staying up late.
