Hey! So, i play on the ring of fire server ok? i have a guild here (Not WvW, but.. Everything, like a chatting guild etc.) And i am going for a legendary, which means i need 100% map completion + 500 badges. I have 147 badges, but then it stopped. Why?

Because ALL the big WvW guilds on ring of fire and whiteside ridge changed to Gunnars hold. We have no chance in WvW now

This is how it looks like: (note, what i mean with points is like keeps, towers etc. Like things we own, INCLUDING the spawn citadel, which we cant loose)

Ring of Fire: 3 points (Citadel + 2 other points)
Whiteside ridge: 2 points (Citadel + 1 point)
Gunnars Hold: The rest…

Gunnars hold have like 98% of the points, so we have no chance. I think they are leading like 330K points to 20k or something! I will NEVER get map completion if it continues like this. If i step one single step out of our citadel, i will get killed by a massive zerg.

And, now… When they remove free transfer, means these big guilds wont change back to their original servers, so this is how WvW will be for the rest of the lifetime of GW2….

So, please! Switch it up, we cant fight against Gunnars hold anymore… Seriously, it has been like this for the last week, we have NO commanders, NO, big WvW guilds, NO DEFENCE! Since all the “Pro’s” changed server

You know that match ups change each week right? If they are winning by that much they will leave the tier and you won’t fight them anymore. Just be patient and it will get sorted.

If you had had this match up for like a month I would understand but this is how WvW works… Gunnars had 300 new wvw players this week so of course they have more points this week, they will move up and you will be fighting RoS and UW next week. Ros will be stronger than gunnars though

Indeed – I sympathise and to be honest alot of the WvW players on all 3 servers don’t like it this unbalanced, but there is 1 day left of this matchup before the tiers are adjusted, so please don’t be too disheartened!

I can understand your feelings, but i know 1st hand that GH faced similar (well not THAT bad) odds in the past and simply kept fighting against em.

Tiers should sort themselves out again soon – at least I hope they do.

And – no matter how bad it looks, don’t give up. I’ve played WvWat Gunnar’s for getting on for five months and the week before last was the first week that I have played in which we didn’t lose!

Actually RoF guilds didn’t move anywhere, it’s just the fact that Gunnar’s received a lot of numbers.

Speaking of myself as commander, I had some rl things which needed doing, so I wasn’t on as much as usually…

Also, the RoF Alliance had some fun event yesterday evening, reaching +240 point tick at some point and taking the total of 6 gh fully upgraded keeps

OP is a bit misinformed as none of the Rof guilds left the server. Rof is still in the same shape we have always been but we are just in a hugely outbalanced matchup and we will be for a while considering RoS is coming up and they will have even more people. On the bright side I look forward to seeing how Rof and UW will handle it as both servers have more people then whiteside/vabbi/FOW.

We are the zerg. Your servers’ WvW population will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Seriously though, I’m sorry if this feels frustrating. With the announcement of paid transfers most of the tiers are skewed right now. Next week you’ll have other servers to face, although Surmia will probably give you a similar beating. Give the glicko ranking system time to adapt to server balance changes.

Ok so to clarify things:

1. I have NO IDEA how WvW works, but my guild mate which does alot WvW told me that basically all rof guild moved servers, because we were loosing. He told me its like this everytime, and people have said so.. But apparently, thats wrong.

2. I know for a fact that we have been fighting Gunnars Hold for the past month or so… The matchups have never changed. I have been trying WvW for like 4 weeks now, everytime i join, we are against GH.

But oh well.. i just wait for like 2 years until the match up changes, believe me… i know ANet, they wont change the match up, because they dont see the problem. They are probably on GH themselves, so they are “Pfft! This is balanced!”

I will probably never get my map completion -_- i cant even get it on MY SERVERS BORDELANDS!

But fingers crossed for the next update, hopefully, the match up changes

I love when, as a quick response 5-6 of Gunnar’s regular community members jump to this thread and acknowledge OP’s frustrations. I love our community. It will stand strong.

@ OP: Reset of WvW will soon come. RoF is a strong server, I hope you will do good in next matchup. Also, your Eternal Battleground placement depends on which no. in your tier you are. So it sometimes takes a few weeks to complete Eternal Battleground as map.

They stayed down there before because the match ups were even until they just recently got all of these transfers.

I think you misunderstand: the matchup WILL change next week. For the past few weeks GH/RoF were more evenly matched but this week GH received a massive new guild which tipped it into being completely unbalanced (for what it’s worth completely ruining WvW for us as well, just in a different way).

If you check http://mos.millenium.org/matchups you’ll see that next week you won’t be facing GH anymore. However, unfortunately, RoS will probably give you even worse of a beating. In a week or two they’ll get promoted and then you should have much more even matchups.

Frankly the latest wave of server transfers will take a month or two to ripple through the ladder and get everyone back to the most balanced possible matchups.

We just have to hope some big guild doesn’t decide they’re bored again then and want to ruin the ladder for every other server by jumping from T1 to the bottom! Hopefully paid transfers means this will be less likely in future.

I suppose the Devs will be on RoS next week, Finally they will visit us!

Inform yourself before posting. Switching servers/worlds will cost money gems from monday on so the next free transfer will be your last.

First my full sympathies for your situation. I know how it feels to be heavily outnumbered. GH was in the same position for a very long time (free fall from tier 2 to 8 since start of the weeklies). I assure you i do not enjoy the current situtation which is why i have stayed out of WvW since sunday.

But as Hyung said, in the last weeks before Xaoc joined our server we were fighting each other again and again because we were quite evenly matched. (Dont take this as granted but my personal opinion is that Xaoc will leave GH before paid server transfers will go live. In that case we may be facing each other again soon and on way more even terms.) Current score is roughly 360k vs 70k (RoF) vs 50k (WSR). Just to set some facts straight. In terms of world completion its a serious annoyance i am sure, but you dont need to hold even a single point to get badges. There are ways to have some small scale battles for supply camps etc.

Well TBH this total whipe of our server has the effect of us working even better and has pushed us into the right direction.
Yes it’s not fun for all the servers but still Friday all will change, but be prepared that next week could be a minor one too all the more fun for me like other members of the alliance have noticed when i’m commanding

It is sad to see some of the more casual wvw players don’t see we actually HAVE a very loyal alliance going on!
Also, that alliance isnt some closed elitist group or whatever, we actually encourage everyone to join our shared TS! That includes individuals feeling a little bit lost with Gunnars dominating. (I can also highly recommend joining a WvW orientated guild on our server)
I can see how that can be a little bit frustrating, but its even more frustrating if you don’t know there is actually a group of us doing organized and often successful attacks on gunnars keeps
Getting involved in the alliance will make it easier for you to take part in the victories we still have!
