GvG will we get some love?
I’m trying to grasp why guilds think the fights have to be 20v20 or 25v25, this only results in culling and lag. 10v10 and 15v15 shows what real skill a guild possesses.

max you can get atm is 8vs8 and no real “free terrain” map either people also like to use bufffood and all that you cannot find in spvp right now
Driver of Death Days
The numbers are not important. The game mode is.
WvW for example turning into a “run as much together as you have”. Each time we run around with a 15 man guild group we meet with 40+ blob run out of culling. FUN! wait… NOT.
GvG would finally create a place where rival or friendly guilds can decide which one is better/ more organized without pugs, incoming extra zerg/reinforcement or culling.
This game is called GUILD Wars for a reason.

This game is called GUILD Wars for a reason.
You are correct, it was named after the lore conflict called the “Guild Wars”.
Oh, not the reason you were expecting? My bad.
- Permanent guild tower and guild keep instances.
- Spend influence and merit points to upgrade core defence components.
- Members can contribute using gold, karma and their crafting professions for decorative components, even rare themed decorative items using dungeon tokens.
- Option for open house to public or closed to members only.
- Free global return Waypoint, upgrades for Asura gates/portals to popular locations.
- Guild raids!
— Cost nothing to defend but minimum two defence (1/2 hr each) per week else slots would be randomly allocated the following week. Influence and merit rewards for successful defence.
— Cost influence to activate and book attack slot on other guild’s defence. Limited to 1 attack on any guild per month (No attacking same guild over and over).
— Guild ranking and tier sorting. Attacks and defences occur by tiers.
— Rewards on successful attacks based upon tier and wealth of defending guild (depending upon upgrades and deco).

That was created to give GvG some context in pve.
I agree – I’m not into GvG much but the other week people who weren’t participating in a tournament got really kitten of at our guilds who were fighting in GvG at the map while we were trying to defend inner doors of T3 keep.
The compromise is to organize GvG on Friday before reset as most of the time matchups are pretty much decided then so everybody is basically fooling around.

No.. it wasn’t, how does GvG have context in PvE?

If it actually only is 20vs20 or 25vs25 and not 20vs20 or 25vs25 + 30 spectators, the game actually runs fairly well. I know, because we did a few of these in T3 and it worked quite well. (read: no skill lag and basically no culling)
I do think the 15vs15 format is the most enjoyable though.
If you’re in a big guild like I am, It would suck that only 15 out of like 300+ active would get to show their skills in battle. Once culling is dealt with, should be next week accoding to ANet’s post, the 25vs25 would be great. The lag is your end so you need to get a better computer, I’ve seen live streams that are pretty much flawless against 40 people each server.
