HOD match lengths
I could certainly see the ‘top guilds’ that are playing at 4am EST leaving because WvDoor isn’t very fun.
I doubt the primetime guilds would be leaving, since they are getting good fights, despite often being on the losing end of them.

“SBI and ET teamed up and was winning after three days, then they gave up so they lost the week match. "
This is wrong. Factually and conceptually wrong.

lol @ ET/SB teaming up… we didn’t team up. I don’t care how many times you wanna say we did, we didn’t. Both ET and SB primetime guilds and server itself are better than hod’s. It’s just a fact. Your offpeaks are WAY better than our undermanned bufffed people.
We can’t compete. If every match was a primetime or weekend match, HOD would be #3 or even #4

It’s accurate. HoD gets fewer points per tick during prime time (~200) than they do non prime time (500+). You’re prim time crew is losing battles to the tune of 300 points per tick.

I find it funny that people continue to claim ET and SB worked together. I can assure you that we did not team up with each other. If you actually went around the Borderlands, ET and SB were fighting each other. It just so happened that ET and SB had the same mindset to try knock off HOD. Great minds think alike, right? And hey! It actually worked during the weekend.
When it came to the weekdays, SB and ET just didn’t have the numbers to compete with HOD. This is due to people sleeping after long hours of play, and people who had school and work. Lets face it, ET is a low to medium populated server. We can easily destroy HOD during the weekends, but come the weekdays, our medium population showed it’s ugly face.
Even members from Titan Alliance have said on other forums that they were pretty much capturing things for free with little to no forces from ET and SB during the weekdays. Hey, it’s pretty cool you guys at HOD are undefeated. But do you want to know what is more impressive? That a low to medium populated server is in the top 1 to 2 tier servers.

Well, that isn’t entirely accurate. On the weekend they were about 200/tick behind, but during the week it was closer.

SBI and ET teamed up and was winning after three days, then they gave up so they lost the week match. What I do not understand why did you guys not do this on the 24 hour matches and win one of those.
I fought plenty of ETs and HoDs throughout the week so, if there was a team up, nobody told us about it nor did anyone honor it. We definitely focused on HoD when we could but that’s just strategy. You have one server winning and two losing. Obviously the two losing servers should get back in the game before vying for first place.
Also, I don’t think we ever gave up. There were generally queue times on every map throughout the parts of every day that I can play. I certainly never got the feel from the people fighting that it was time to give up. We were certainly crying about how strong HoD was but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with crying after being stomped to death by a powerhouse. The whining was at a minimum and, more often than not, we were just trying to figure out what to do against such a strong opponent.
HoD is a beast. There are some very good WvWvW guilds on that server and they play at times when a lot of us are in bed. I don’t think they are unbeatable, mind you. We just need to organize and make sure we have some tactical leaders as well as enough manpower to hold the line until more people wake up or HoD goes to bed.
We will see how we do this time. Some of us have ideas that may help out….maybe. Again, HoD is no laughing matter. There is a lot of skill there beyond just the sheer numbers.

If I was leading Titan, I’d be jumping ship from HoD to a low pop server and leaving the mass of scrubs like the op behind. Certainly the queues must suck, and the fact that they are winning through numbers alone now totally Is starting to overshadows TAs skills and accomplishments. The top tier server matching would be so much more fun and rewarding for all parties (including Titan) if they did this, and Titan could win or lose based on how good they are rather than how many newbs bandwagonned to their server in the first week.

SBI & ET have NEVER been low pop. Doubtful about medium too. What’s impressive is that there is an almost 24 hour coverage on HoD. Also lolwat? are you saying that Players on HoD never sleep/work etc? that has nothing to do with it. It’s simply that HoD has a more diverse collection of guilds in which to cover every time zone.

This.
The ONLY place ET and SBI seemed to “team up” was in EB on the 1st day of the match. I was in ET borderlands all Friday night and Saturday and fought both ET and HoD.
They had 24 hour matches and even some of them on the weekends HOD won all of them, remember?
So what was the problem last week lead for three days and gave up?
Many SBI and ET players have said they were only focusing on HOD and would pass up the other side.
People keep saying they were not tag teaming, explain this.
So for over six hours HOD only had Lowlands in EB, that had broke walls.
There were no other swords on the map but at Lowlands, SBI would camp our portal ET would attack lowlands.
ET would rush into our broken walls soon as we killed them all SBI would rush in.
For six hours you guys never rushed at the same time, you never attacked each other, between yall you had the whole map but Lowlands.
Not one tower, supply camp or fort changed hands that was due to ET attacking SBI or SBI attacking ET.
If that is not double teaming I do not know what is, but it was fun for HOD finally a good fight too bad you guys gave up.
This is why HOD guilds were not going to leave HOD becuase some of you keep saying we are not better so sooner or later when you guys admit you can not beat HOD you will see some guilds leave.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve spent more time fighting ET then HoD so if there was suppose to be an alliance I don’t think SBI knew about it. And with regards to us just “giving up” after 3 days, the servers reset during HoD’s primetime and we lost all of our defenses(seige, upgrades, everything). HoD strolled in and took the whole map without opposition. How would you feel if 3 days of work was ripped out from under your feet while you were asleep?
We can’t compete. If every match was a primetime or weekend match, HOD would be #3 or even #4
26 – 0 for 24 hour matches.

The story back then was wait till the longer matches happen.
Sometimes those sheer numbers hurt us here on HoD. Its a bit difficult for guilds to field decent numbers during peak/near-peak hours. From what I’ve seen, its usually one to two guild groups (3+ if there’s a lot of luck involved) and they end up forming the nucleus of the various ‘zerg’ groups.
From what I understand, ET’s current WvW population relocated to that server precisely because of queues (or lack there of.) They wished to have a higher percentage of the players to be from their alliance relative to non-alliance players.
HoD doesn’t have that advantage. We have just a very large queue in which TA composes a minority. And let me tell you, some of the other randoms (I’d be considered a random) offer such sagely advice/tactics as:
—Don’t retake supply depots. They are worthless.
—The keep/tower has plenty of supply. Use it instead of taking 1 minute to run to a depot and back.
—Starts an upgrade while actively under attack, thus sapping supplies.
—Prioritizes lone pets with a cannon (yes…I have watched this)
—Drops siege weaponry on the outside edge of a wall where it is immediately destroyed (note to attackers: let them dump their supply into it first)
—Uses 100 supply from an actively engaged tower to build a trebuchet that cannot hit any of the attackers
—Leads defenders to charge an entrenched enemy position with 1/2 their numbers and no siege support. Most of them die. Tower is now undermanned. GG.
Now, every server has these people, I understand that. BUT, HoD’s freakin’ massive population means we generally have MORE of them than most servers.
Even worse, they actually get people to listen to/follow them.
Anyhoo, good matches all. GL and HF (except for a certain ranger from Diversity[DVY] on ET; you can go away permanently.)

Double teaming? Yes. Teamed up as in allied together? Not at all. We beat on you because we both knew what would happen once the weekday “night crew” came into play. It seems like both servers had the same idea: beat up the #1. I know, it’s rough at the top, no? Well, hopefully SBI will be able to relieve you of that position this time :-)
Did we organize or coordinate this verbally? Not that I’m aware of but I sure as hell had the same idea.
As for giving up, it’s called “after midnight during the work week” and many people suffer from this affliction. I certainly never gave up and I know many others didn’t either. I was also unable to play all hours as I work from 8-5 and have a wife + child……though I still broke my own rules and played late for a couple of those nights ;-)
Additionally, I don’t know if it was intended but you come off as rather insulting. If that was the intention, carry on. If not, well, remember that tone of voice and intent come across rather inefficiently when put into text.
See you on the battlefield!

Your gold star is in the mail bro. Nobody denies Henge has top tier pvpers. It just sucks those guilds are starting to take a back seat to the population imbalance in many peoples eyes.
If i may make a tongue in cheek analogy, you guys are china, we are the united states. You wait in line for 4 hours for a bowl of rice, we drive through at mcdonalds. You beat us in an out-and out-war because you outnumber us 4 to 1. But in the end, where would you rather live?

Ugh…..I don’t envy any of that. I know there was a big “spy” problem this week too. I remember coming to a tower under siege, dodging my way into it, and finding 5 battering rams all built in the courtyard. The tower supply was at zero, all the defensive siege was destroyed, and a couple of unguilded dudes were standing around on the ramparts just watching (among a few people actually defending).
I can’t imagine it was just us who experienced that but it’s one of the main reasons I believe it’s time to end server transfers.
Either way (that’s my cool story, bro!), I can’t wait for our rematch. SBI is burning for the win this time ;-)
Happy gaming! :-D

The person saying that no camps exchanged hands between ET & SBI on the first day in EB are just wrong. ET constantly went down through ogre camp to take out Umberland. They just weren’t really able to push further. There was always a push/pull in the area between Ogrewatch and Umberland. We on SBI just chose not to push Ogrewatch but keep a defense at the ogre camp to keep ET at bay while we focused on HoD.
